摘要: A helmet may be worn on a head of a wearer having a shape and a contour. The helmet may have a plurality of layers coupled together including an energy management layer and an outer shell layer disposed over the energy management layer. The plurality of layers are integrally formed with one another, and the energy management layer is configured to absorb and dissipate energy received by the helmet during an impact by an external force. The outer shell layer is configured to disperse and dissipate impact energy from the external force. Each of the plurality of layers has a density and a geometry, and the density or geometry of at least one layer differs from the density or geometry of at least another layer.

摘要: The shroud assembly is configured for attachment to the front of a helmet, or other headgear. The shroud assembly includes an interface for the removable attachment of an accessory mount used to couple an electronic or optoelectronic imaging device to the headgear. An example shroud assembly comprises a polymer frame having a shape that matches a contour of the headgear and an insert formed of a metal or metal alloy. The polymer frame is molded around the insert. The polymer frame and the insert together form an interface for the removable attachment of an accessory mount. The interface includes an upper recess configured to act as a bearing surface for an engaging latch member of the accessory mount, and a lower recess configured to act as a bearing surface for another engaging latch member of the accessory mount.

摘要: A unibody impact protection body suit apparatus that provides a secure fit to a user, provides spacing between the head of the user and the interior of the head region of the suit, provides face and shoulder protection, and situation awareness prior to impact to help prevent various head, neck, shoulder, upper body, and spinal injuries to a user in the game of football or other contact sport. In particular, the impact protection suit includes a head region having an interior wall region, a shoulder region, and a torso region. Here, the impact protection suit is configured such that the head region provides spacing between a user's head and the interior wall region to help minimize or prevent various, head, neck, and spine injuries. In addition, the suit may also include various proximity sensors and audio-visual notification interfaces for alerting the user of impending impact from an opposing player.

摘要: A helmet mount apparatus includes a reclining mount assembly having transversely spaced apart pivot arms. An upper end of each pivot arm is attached to a mount base member and configured for pivoting movement about a first transverse pivot axis. A lower end of each pivot arm is attached to a viewing device and configured for pivoting movement about a second transverse pivot axis. The pivot arms are pivotable about the first transverse pivot axis between a viewing position in front of an eye of a user and a stowed position above the helmet. The pivot arms are pivotable about the second transverse pivot axis to adjust a viewing angle of the viewing device or reduce a profile of the viewing device when the pivot arms are in the viewing position or stowed position, respectively.

A recess may be proximate an edge of the mounting rail assembly. The recess may be open generally perpendicular to the mounting groove and configured to receive a second accessory device. 摘要: An improved design for a helmet to reduce injuries caused by helmet-to-helmet collisions. Certain embodiments include novel quick release features that permit the detachment of a facemask from a helmet in 30 seconds or less so as to attend to an injured player in a rapid fashion. Other aspects relate to impact energy absorbing constructions employing an inner layer, an outer layer spaced apart from the inner padding layer, at least one layer that includes an array of polygonal structures, and at least one layer having a shock-absorbing elastomer, a visco-elastic polymer, an impact dispersing gel, or shape memory material. Still other embodiments include a wireless device with a sensor module coupled to the football helmet generating sensor data in response to an impact to the football helmet.
