Abstract:
A device for producing medicinal foam comprises a gas vessel for holding a sterile gas and an active agent vessel for holding an active agent. A connecting element connects both vessels. Further, a feeder for feeding the gas and the active agent back and forth between the two vessels is provided for producing the medicinal foam. The connecting element comprises a closure element for a sterile closure of one of the two vessels.
Abstract:
A device for distributing substances includes distribution container (1) receiving a substance. The container has a closing unit (3) provided with a canula (11) for the substance to be distributed. The outer end (15) of the canula protrudes from the closing unit (3). A safety device (5, 17) can alternate between a protective state in which it covers the outer end (15) of the canula (11), and a user state for the distribution of the substance from the canula (11).
Abstract:
A fluid transfer system has a holder that is made of a cylindrical member having a closed end and an open end. The closed end has fitted thereto a luer and a cannula that extends into the interior of the holder. The holder has a distal portion that has a first cross section and a proximal portion that has a second cross section. The cross section of the distal portion is smaller than the cross section of the proximal portion. The distal and proximal portions are joined by a shoulder. The fluid transfer system also includes an adapter that is inserted to the holder from the open end of the holder. The adapter has a base having a central opening and a cylindrical tube that extends from the central opening. The diameter of the cylindrical tube is slightly smaller than the diameter of the distal portion and is configured to accept a first type of fluid collection store such as a vacuum tube. With the adapter removed, the holder can accept a differently dimensioned fluid collection store such as for example a blood culture collection bottle.
Abstract:
A medical needle shield apparatus is provided which includes an extensible shield having a first segment and a second segment extending therefrom. The second segment includes an opening configured for clearance of a medical needle of a medical needle device during attachment of the extensible shield to the medical needle device. The second segment defines a planar surface adjacent a distal portion thereof. The planar surface is configured to engage the needle for disposing the shield in an extended position. In alternate embodiment, the medical needle shield apparatus has a syringe having a needle hub supporting a needle. The first segment articulates from a collar disposed about the needle hub. The collar includes a pair of latches. The opening is configured for travel about the needle to facilitate extension of the shield from a retracted position to an extended position. The second segment further includes a proximal fulcrum that engages the needle to facilitate extension of the shield. The second segment also has a pair of catches. The catches are engageable with the latches to maintain the shield in the retracted position. The second segment has a nose portion defining a planar surface configured to engage the needle to facilitate fixing the shield in the extended position.
Abstract:
Unit for the infusion administration of liquid or dissolved active substances preserved in a storage container (1) is described, provided with a pierceable plug (2) of elastomeric material having predetermined thickness, comprising a sterilized bag (3), a tubular perforator (4) and a tube (5) for the connection between the bag (3) and the perforator (4). Said bag (3) contains a solution injectable by infusion to a patient and said tubular perforator (4) extends mainly along its longitudinal axis and it is provided with one tip (7) on one end to perforate said plug (2), which tip has holes in order to transfer said active substances from said storage container (1) to said bag (3) in order to form a final infusion solution. The unit comprises in addition a shell-type tightening casing (10) made up of two complementary halves closable on one another in order to enclose the zone of connection between the tube (5) and the container (1), including the perforator (4), and to guarantee the water-tightness of the unit in the aforesaid zone.
Abstract:
A combination of a storage container for an injectable product and a needleless injection device for injecting the product, wherein an adapter is used to establish a fluid connection between the storage container and the injection device, wherein the storage container is connected to a dosing means for dispensing the injectable product to the injection device in doses, and the dosing means includes an actuator arranged in the storage container or reaching into the storage container.
Abstract:
A plug body for chemical container capable of preventing the contact thereof with chemical and preventing ruptured film from failing into the chemical, comprising a valve (1) having an insert hole (3) formed at the center thereof a cover (2) for holding the valve (1) by covering at least the upper peripheral edge of the valve (1), and a locking means for locking an insert body to the cover (2) by using the edge part of the cover (2) having a fitting hole formed therein when the insert body is inserted into the insert hole (3), wherein the rear surface peripheral part of the valve (1) is held by a pedestal part (5), and a film (4) covering the rear surface of the valve is disposed on the upper surface of the pedestal part (5).
Abstract:
An automated system is provided and includes a safety and cost reducing feature that is capable of detecting whether an underfill condition exists within the product container as a unit dose of medication is delivered thereto. More specifically, the medication is typically injected into the product container under action of a delivery device, such as a pump, and the underfill detection device is capable of calculating if air (air bubbles) has been dispensed into the product container and based on this information, the device is able to measure the amount of the unit dose of medication within the product container and if necessary, additional medication can be added if it is determined that an underfill condition exists in order to compensate for the presence of the air bubbles.
Abstract:
A syringe assembly including an adapter, a sheath and filling spike for connecting to said adapter and an intravenous connector for intravenously administering medicine to a patient. The barrel may be connected to the adapter and the filling spike for filling the barrel with medicine. The medicine can then be injected into a patient through either the needleless intravenous injection system or through a retractable needle assembly.
