Abstract: A photocurable silicone composition is disclosed. The composition comprises 4,5,6,7-tetrachloro-3′,6′-dihydroxy-2′,4′,5′,7′-tetraiodospiro[2-benzofuran-3,9′-xanthen]-1-one as a photochromic pigment. The photochromic pigment is present in an amount of from about 0.001 to about 0.05 mass % of a total amount of the composition. The composition can indicate a cure point thereof by disappearance of color.

Abstract: A plasticizer composition to be used in a transparent resin for optics, wherein the plasticizer composition includes: a composite aggregated particulate material; and a liquid plasticizer having dispersed therein the composite aggregated particulate material. The composite aggregated particulate material includes an inorganic aggregate material being a granular material formed of aggregates of an inorganic particulate material formed of silica having a specific surface area particle diameter of not less than 0.8 nm and not greater than 80 nm, and an organic coating material formed of an organic matter coating a surface of the inorganic aggregate material. A mass of the organic coating material is not less than 0.8% and not greater than 80% with respect to a sum of a mass of the inorganic aggregate material and a mass of the organic coating material. Both mechanical properties and optical properties are realized by mixing the plasticizer composition.

Abstract: A thermoplastic resin composition of the present invention comprises: polypropylene resin; polyolefin copolymer resin; and zinc oxide, wherein the zinc oxide has an average particle size of about 0.5 to about 3 μm, a specific surface area BET of about 1 to about 10 m2/g, a 2θ peak position in the range of 35° to 37° in X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis, and a crystallite size value calculated by formula 1 in the range of about 1,000 to about 2,000 Å. The thermoplastic resin composition has excellent antibacterial properties, impact resistance, chemical resistance, weather resistance, fluidity, etc.

The composition comprises a rubber component and based on 100 parts by weight (phr) of the rubber component, 50-200 phr of covered silica, with the covered silica comprising silica core and a first resin covering the silica core, wherein the first resin is not chemically bonded to the silica core. The silica core is covered with the first resin by mixing a slurry comprising silica core with a mixture containing the first resin as a solution, an aqueous dispersion; or a solution by dissolving the first resin in a solvent.

Abstract: Described herein are conductive rubber compositions including a rubber component and one or more electrically conductive carbon compounds. In another aspect, the conductive rubber compositions can be prepared by first adding the one or more conductive carbon components into the polymer phase, thereby creating a filler network in the continuous polymer phase in the finished product. In a further aspect, the conductive carbon component can be or include one or more of the following: carbon black, a short carbon fiber, graphite powder, or graphene powder. Following mixing, the conductive rubber compositions can optionally be vulcanized. The conductive rubber compositions have good mechanical properties and electrical resistivity and can be processed using existing equipment.

Abstract: Provided is a tire comprising a tread part, the tread part comprising at least one rubber layer of a rubber composition comprising a rubber component and a thermoplastic elastomer, wherein a ratio (WT/WL) of a tire weight WT (kg) to a maximum load capacity WL (kg) of the tire is 0.0180 or less, wherein, in a dynamic viscoelasticity test (temperature-dependent measurement at 10 Hz) in accordance with JIS K 6394, the thermoplastic elastomer exhibits a tan δ peak value in a range of −20° C. to 20° C., and the peak value is 1.00 or more. While being lightweight, the tire can improve in ride comfort and particularly suppress deterioration of ride comfort due to abrasion.
