Abstract:
The present disclosure provides a semiconductor structure. The semiconductor structure includes a semiconductor substrate; and a gate stack disposed on the semiconductor substrate. The gate stack includes a high k dielectric material layer, a capping layer disposed on the high k dielectric material layer, and a metal layer disposed on the capping layer. The capping layer and the high k dielectric material layer have a footing structure.
Abstract:
In a process for producing a cycloalkylaromatic compound, an aromatic compound and a cyclic olefin are contacted with a first catalyst under conditions effective to produce a reaction product comprising the cycloalkylaromatic compound and at least one non-fused bicyclic by-product. The at least one non-fused bicyclic by-product is then contacted with a second catalyst under conditions effective to convert at least a portion of the at least one non-fused bicyclic by-product to a converted by-product.
Abstract:
A reflective mask is described. The mask includes a low thermal expansion material (LTEM) substrate, a conductive layer deposited on a first surface of the LTEM substrate, a stack of reflective multilayers (ML) deposited on a second surface of the LTEM substrate, a capping layer deposited on the stack of reflective ML, a first absorption layer deposited on the first capping layer, a main pattern, and a border ditch. The border ditch reaches to the capping layer, a second absorption layer deposited inside the border ditch, and the second absorption layer contacts the capping layer. In some instances, the border ditch crosses the capping layer and partially enters the reflective multilayer.
Abstract:
A uniform reflective light-guide apparatus can accompany an optional edge light source and includes a light-guiding layer, a reflective layer and a light-exiting surface. The light-guiding layer further has a lateral side to define a light-introducing surface for allowing entrance of lights from the edge light source. The reflective layer is to reflect incident lights back to the light-guiding layer. The light-exiting surface perpendicular to the light-introducing surface is to allow at least a portion of the lights in the light-guiding layer to leave the light-guide apparatus. The reflective layer and the light-guiding layer are manufactured integrally by a co-extrusion process so as to avoid possible existence of an air spacing between the reflective layer and the light-guiding layer.
Abstract:
Novel Uses of small molecules, particularly, triterpenoids and ingol diterpenes isolated from Euphorbia neriifolia, are disclosed herein. The triterpenoids are useful as lead compounds for manufacturing a medicament or a pharmaceutical composition for treating cancer; whereas the ingol diterpenes are useful as lead compounds for manufacturing a medicament or a pharmaceutical composition for treating thrombocytopenia.
Abstract:
A light-guide apparatus for accompanying an edge light source to form a backlight module for an LCD display includes an upper light-distributing layer, a middle light-guiding layer and a lower reflective layer. The light-guiding layer further defines a light-introducing surface for allowing lights emitted from the edge light source to enter the light-guiding layer. The reflective layer reflects the lights back to the light-guiding layer. A light-exiting surface for allowing at least a portion of the lights to leave the light-guiding layer is defined on the top surface of the light-distributing layer and is perpendicular to the light-introducing surface. The light-distributing layer, the light-guiding layer and the reflective layer are manufactured integrally into a unique piece by a co-extrusion process so as to avoid possible existence of air spacing in between. Three-dimensional micro-structures are constructed on a reflective surface interfacing the reflective layer and the light-guiding layer.
Abstract:
A representative display device includes a display module, a polarization controller and a compensator. Each pixel region of the display module has a first sub-pixel region, a second sub-pixel region and a third sub-pixel region respectively providing a first light, a second light and a third light of the same polarization. The polarization controller has control regions that control the polarization of the light passing therethrough. The compensator has first compensating regions, second compensating regions and third compensating regions corresponding to the first sub-pixel regions, the second sub-pixel regions and the third sub-pixel regions, respectively. The compensations of phase retardation of the first light, the second light and the third light generated by passing through the first compensating regions, the second compensating regions and the third compensating regions are different from one another.
Abstract:
A fixing mechanism for fixing a detachable module is disclosed. The fixing mechanism includes a frame for covering the detachable module. The frame includes a frame body and a pivoting portion connected to the frame body. A pivoting hole is formed on the pivoting portion. The fixing mechanism further includes a casing. The casing includes a lateral plate whereon a slot is formed, a shaft portion extended from the lateral plate in a first direction and disposed on a side of the slot, and an engaging portion extended from the lateral plate in a second direction and disposed on another side of the slot for inserting into the pivoting hole of the pivoting portion so that the pivoting portion is capable of pivoting from a first position to a second position as abutting against the shat portion.
Abstract:
A video processing method includes decoding a bitstream that includes a plurality of groups of pictures and each group of pictures comprises a frame sequence, determining whether a current frame of a current group of pictures to be displayed has macroblocks with forward reference to a previous frame of a previous group of pictures, wherein the current group of pictures is subsequent to the previous group of pictures, and displaying the current frame of the current group of pictures when the current frame has no macroblock with forward reference to the previous frame of the previous group of pictures. The previous frame of the previous group of pictures is determined to be referenced by the current frame of the current group of pictures according to information specified from the encoding of the current frame.
Abstract:
A system and method for checking a ground via of control chips of a printed circuit board (PCB) provides a graphical user interface (GUI) displaying a layout of the PCB. The control chip has a plurality of ground pins. The computer searches for signal path routing of each ground pin and ground vias along each signal path routing of each ground pin. If there are any ground vias having the same absolute coordinates, the computer determines that the ground vias are shared by more than one ground pin.
