    摘要: In an exemplary embodiment, the present invention discloses interspinous process spacers that can be placed between adjacent spinous processes for minimally invasive surgical treatment of a spinal disease or defect. In particular, the present invention, in one embodiment, discloses an interspinous process spacer having a distraction end, a central support portion, and a trailing end. Also disclosed in the present invention are systems and kits including such implants, methods of inserting such implants, and methods of alleviating pain or discomfort associated with a spinal column disease or defect.

The implants can comprise an inner core member that is encased at least in part by an outer encasing member. The inner core member can be formed of a first material that imparts improved strength to the implant, while the outer encasing member is formed of a second material that imparts improved imaging characteristics to the implant. Alternatively, the implants can include a single-piece member formed of a first material that is coated by a coating layer of a second material.

    摘要: An intervertebral prosthetic implant having a first endplate having a first surface configured to substantially engage with a first vertebral body and a second surface having an extension with a concave contact surface, the concave contact surface being spaced apart from the second surface. A second endplate is provided with a first surface configured to substantially engage with a second vertebral body and a second surface comprising a convex contact surface, and the second endplate having a securing element positioned along and above the second surface defining a first and second window on opposing sides of the second surface. The securing element extends along the width and length of the lower endplate and configured with an access hole. An extension portion extends from the first surface of the first endplate through the access hole of the securing element and contacts the second surface of the second endplate.
