Abstract: This technology relates to a reception apparatus, a transmission apparatus, and a data processing method for configuring circuits on the receiving side at lower costs.The reception apparatus includes: a demodulation section configured to demodulate a packet included in each of multiple PLPs of a broadcast stream; and a processing section configured to process the packet demodulated by the demodulation section. The demodulation section and the processing section are interconnected via a single interface. The processing section identifies the PLP to which the packet input via the single interface from the demodulation section belongs on the basis of information for identifying the PLP to which the packet belongs. This technology applies, for example, to receivers supporting an IP transmission method.

Abstract: A video broadcast system comprising a web page having a web page address and being in communication with a host system to permit users and a content providers to access the host system. The host system is programmed to permit the content provider to register at least one channel and associate the channel with the content provider, selectively upload to the host system a video file and associate the video file with the channel, and associate a link source address with the channel, wherein the link source address is different from the web page address. The host system is further programmed to permit the content provider to determine which of the channels registered with the host system are accessible by the user accessing the host system from the link source address.

Abstract: A video aggregation system presents video contents items to multiple users. A first feed, a second feed, and a third feed are acquired. The aggregation system presents content items of the first feed, the second feed, and the third feed in a first sequence to a first user. The aggregation system presents content items of the first feed, the second feed, and the third feed in a second sequence to a second user. In some embodiments, the first sequence and/or the second sequence are based on subscription to content of the first user and/or the second user.

Abstract: An apparatus and a system of improvement of advertisement targeting through embedded scripts in supply-side and demand-side platforms are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method of a client device includes applying an automatic content recognition algorithm to determine a content identifier of an audio-visual data. The client device then associates the content identifier with an advertisement data based on a semantic correlation between a meta-data of the advertisement provided by a content provider and/or the content identifier. The advertisement targeting may be improved when a script is embedded in the client device, a supply-side platform, and/or a data provider integrated with the supply side platform, to execute arbitrary cross-site scripts in the sandboxed application of the client device. The content identifier may be obfuscated in a manner that it is relevant to a particular demand-side platform to eliminate a need to query the provider of the content identifier on a per ad-spot basis. The demand-side platform may submit requests to the advertising exchange based on a constraint type rather than through a bidding methodology on a per advertisement spot basis.

Abstract: A method or apparatus that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a method for adapting media content of a source device for a recipient device. Characteristics of a first environment of a source device and of a second environment of a recipient can be identified. At least one difference between the characteristics of the first environment of the source device and the characteristics of the second environment of the recipient device can be determined. A presentation of media content can be modified according to the at least one difference between the characteristics of the first environment of the source device and the characteristics of the second environment of the recipient device. Abstract: Methods and apparatus that enable a subscriber of an adaptive bitrate streaming service provider to begin viewing a live program already in progress, and further have the ability to pause, rewind or start the program over from the beginning of the program regardless of its actual length or the manifest window defined by an encoder. Selective retrieval of a live media stream is provided by storing, at a server, a plurality of media fragments beginning at an initial time along with a server manifest for the media stream. In response to a client request for a start time later than the initial time, the server generates a program-specific manifest based on the server manifest.

Abstract: The subject disclosure is directed towards a background transfer service that provides platform-level support for third party applications to queue data transfers to run in the background, including when the application is not running in the foreground. Applications may thus perform downloading and uploading tasks in the background; however the background transfer service manages the data transfer requests so as to limit each background application's ability to interfere with foreground application operations, that is, by controlling resource usage according to one or more policies.
