Abstract:
A receiver multi-protocol interface includes a wide bandwidth amplifier, a data sampling module, and a clocking module. The wide bandwidth amplifier amplifies a first formatted input signal or a second formatted input signal to produce an amplified input signal. The data sampling module converts the amplified input signal into a first data stream in accordance with at least one first sampling clock signal when the interface is configured in the first mode and to converts the amplified input signal into a second data stream in accordance with at least a second sampling clock signal when the interface is in a second mode. The clocking module generates the first sampling clock signals from a reference clock when the multi-protocol interface is in a first operational mode and generates the second sampling clock signals based on the reference clock when the interface is in the second operational mode.
Abstract:
One of the thermal transmission rates that represent thermal transmission from gas to steam in a heat exchanger constituting a boiler is calculated based on thermal conductivity rate of pipes and thermal transfer of steam and gas, and the other is compared with the thermal conductivity rate calculated based on the thermal conductivity rate of the pipes and thermal transfer rate of steam and gas.
Abstract:
Method and apparatus for circuit testing with ring-connected test instrument modules. A system for controlling one or more test instruments to test one or more integrated circuits includes a master clock and a controller. The test instruments are connected to form a communication ring. The master clock is connected to each test instrument and provides a clock signal to the one or more test instruments. The controller is connected to the communication ring and is configured to align counters of test instruments to derive a common clock time value from the clock signal. The controller is further configured to generate and send data words into the communication ring to carry the data words to each test instrument. The data words includes at least one data word specifying a test event to be performed, a common clock time value, and at least one of the test instruments.
Abstract:
Techniques for performing adaptive and robust prediction. Prediction techniques are adaptive in that they use a minimal amount of historical data to make predictions, the amount of data being selectable. The techniques are able to learn quickly about changes in the workload traffic pattern and make predictions, based on such learning, that are useful for proactive response to workload changes. To counter the increased variability in the prediction as a result of using minimal history, robustness is improved by checking model stability at every time interval and revising the model structure as needed to meet designated stability criteria. Furthermore, the short term prediction techniques can be used in conjunction with a long term forecaster.

A product for electronic transmission of handwritten information is provided. The product comprises at least one writing area for the handwritten information, wherein the writing area comprises a position-coding pattern comprising a plurality of first coded tags and wherein an arbitrary position area of the position-coding pattern unambiguously defines a position on the product. The product further comprises an address area indicating an address to which the handwritten information is to be sent, wherein the address area comprises an address-coding pattern comprising a plurality of second coded tags and wherein an arbitrary address portion of the address-coding pattern is unambiguously indicative of the address.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method for capturing data suitable for creating a Serial ATA eye diagram. A Serial ATA host controller including a first and a second Serial ATA ports is powered up, where receive lines of the first Serial ATA port are short-circuited to receive lines of the second Serial ATA port, and the first Serial ATA port is communicatively coupled to a Serial ATA drive. An initialization pattern from the Serial ATA drive is received by the first and the second Serial ATA ports. An ALIGN/SYNC pattern is transmitted over transmit lines of the second Serial ATA port. Data transmitted over the transmit lines of the second Serial ATA port is captured using a high impedance differential probe and an oscilloscope. The captured data may be used to create a Serial ATA eye diagram for the second Serial ATA port on the oscilloscope.
Abstract:
An electronic printing system comprises a digital camera and a separate printing device for printing images captured by the digital camera. The digital camera comprises a sensor for capturing images, a memory for storing the captured images, a processor, and a communication interface. The processor produces a print utilization file based on user input regarding selection of particular ones of the captured images for printing by the separate printing device, and the print utilization file identifies at least two of the captured images to be printed by the printing device. The interface transmits the print utilization file and the selected captured images so as to permit printing of the selected captured images by the printing device.
