摘要: A lock-up clutch by way of which input/output shafts of a torque converter are operatively connected to each other is connected to an electronic type pressure control valve. During speed changing in a transmission, the problem of interruption of torque transmission can be solved by turning off the lock-up clutch at the time when filling of one of the speed changing clutches to be next brought into an operatively engaged state with hydraulic oil is completed. Hydraulic pressure (P.sub.t) in the torque converter is exerted on the back pressure portion of a piston of the lock-up clutch while hydraulic pressure (P.sub.t) in the torque converter is exerted on the proportional solenoid side of the pressure control valve, making it possible to reduce the initial hydraulic pressure. During speed changing, the lock-up clutch is not fully released from the engaged state but maintains its operative state at low pressure, causing shock from shifting the lock-up state to be reduced. When hydraulic pressure is gradually increased, the extent of opening the throttle, weight of the vehicle and the current gear ratio are derived so as to vary the rate of gradual increase of hydraulic pressure depending on values of these parameters.

摘要: According to an aspect, an electronic device includes a display unit, a contact detecting unit, a housing, and a control unit. The display unit displays an image. The contact detecting unit detects a contact. The housing has a first face in which the display unit is provided and a second face in which the contact detecting unit is provided. When a contact operation is detected by the contact detecting unit while a first image is displayed on the display unit, the control unit causes the display unit to display a second image.

摘要: Evaluating a delivered video using a marker. A marker can be generated to be superimposed and displayed on an evaluation range from coordinate values specifying the evaluation range input to evaluate the video and that adds the marker to the video and causing the video with the marker to be deliver. An image can be generated in the evaluation range at predetermined intervals starting from the input time of the coordinate values. A similarity between two images arranged in the order of time from the input time by comparing the two images can be calculated, and a determination can be made whether the similarity is within an allowable range. The time of one of the two images generated as an extinction time of the displayed marker can be selected when the similarity is determined to be not within the allowable range.

摘要: An apparatus and method are disclosed for determining whether the meaning of a word in an electronic message should be presented to a user, according to a dynamic determination of whether the user knows the meaning of the word. A communication control unit receives a message sent from user A to user B. A morphological analysis unit extracts a word from the message, and a history acquisition unit acquires history information on viewing, usage, or the like of the word by user B. A display determination unit determines whether the meaning of the word should be displayed, according to the acquired history information, the language level of user B, and the difficulty level of the word. The meaning of the word is presented to user B according to the determination result.
