Abstract: A pulsing valve for routing water flow from an inlet line to outlet lines connected to water jets arranged in an array to massage an occupant of a whirlpool spa or bathtub is provided. The pulsing valve includes a water turbine driving a selector disk through a reduction gear drive. The selector disk contains openings which oppose individual outlet water lines and direct water flow to them. Rotation of the selector disk switches water flow among the individual outlet water lines, causing the massaging water jet location to move, improving the quality of the resulting massage.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a system for assisting a mobility-impaired individual or a patient. The system includes a track that mounts to a ceiling or wall of a structure such as a home. The track receives a sliding mechanism. The sliding mechanism connects to a strap hanging arrangement. The strap hanging arrangement connects to a vest. The vest connects to a leg support mechanism. The mobility-impaired individual wears the vest and the leg support mechanism. The sliding mechanism includes a lift strap for adjusting the height of the strap hanging arrangement thereby allowing the mobility-impaired individual to be placed in a sitting position or standing position. The mechanically driven mechanism moves along the track allowing the mobility-impaired individual to move around the structure.

Abstract: A method is described for providing deficit-adjusted adaptive assistance during movement phases of an impaired ankle. The method includes determining, on the processor, a value for a deficit parameter for each movement phase of a compound ankle function based on a difference between a parameter trace for a normal subject and the parameter trace for an impaired subject. The method further includes determining, on the processor, an adaptive magnitude for the robot-applied torque based on the value for the deficit parameter. The method further includes applying, to the robot joint, the adaptive magnitude for the robot-applied torque in only a first plane for the current movement phase, based on an adaptive timing. An apparatus is also described for providing deficit-adjusted adaptive assistance during movement phases of the impaired ankle.

Abstract: A first head of a beauty device includes a stirring mechanism stirring bubbles, and a head case provided with an opening for allowing the bubbles stirred by the stirring mechanism to pass through. When the first head is used while being mounted to the body of the beauty device, bubbles are supplied to the stirring mechanism from the body of the beauty device. In a state where bubbles supplied to the stirring mechanism are present between the stirring mechanism and the skin, the bubbles are stirred and moved between the stirring mechanism and the skin by the stirring mechanism, and thus impurities of the skin are removed by the bubbles.

Abstract: The present invention provides a vibratory device used by holding in hand for general massage of skin as well as stimulation of erogenous zones. The vibratory device generally comprises a body, a vibrating plate positioned on the lower end of the body, a hand grip region at the upper end of the body. A speed controller is provided near the hand grip to control the speed of vibration. The vibratory device further can have a massage pad removably attached to the vibrating plate to absorb the vibrations. A soft elastomeric material such as CyberSkin can be removably attached to the massage pad for providing enhanced stimulation and sensitivity to the skin. The vibratory device provides stimulating erogenous zones directly on the skin or over the clothes in the crotch area for sexual exploration. The vibratory device allows easy control of the intensity and frequency of vibrations.
