An anti-resonant hollow-core fiber comprising a first tubular, cladding element which defines an internal cladding surface, a plurality of second tubular elements which are attached to the cladding surface and together define a core with an effective radius, the second tubular elements being arranged in spaced relation and adjacent ones of the second tubular elements having a spacing therebetween, and a plurality of third tubular elements, each nested within a respective one of the second tubular elements.
Abstract:
A single-phase flip-flop comprising: a master latch comprising: a first circuit to generate a master latch signal in response to a first master logic operation on a flip flop input signal and a first clock signal, and a second circuit to generate a master output signal in response to a second master logic operation on the first clock signal and master latch signal; a slave latch comprising: a third circuit to generate a slave output signal in response to a first slave logic operation on the first clock signal and one of the master output signal and an inverted slave output signal; and wherein the master latch is configured to capture the flip-flop input signal during a first portion of the first clock signal and the slave latch is configured to capture the master output signal during a second portion of the first clock signal.
Abstract:
A method of making a fluid flow device comprises providing a substrate of porous material, depositing a radiation-sensitive substance onto the substrate in a pattern defining one or more regions intended to receive and contain fluid during use of the device or occupying an area within such a region, such that the radiation-sensitive substance extends at least partly through the thickness of the substrate below the pattern, and exposing radiation onto the substrate thereby delivering energy to the radiation-sensitive substance in at least part of the pattern to change the radiation-sensitive substance from a first state to a second state through at least part of the thickness of the substrate. One of the first state and the second state may be less permeable than the other.

Abstract:
Polymer blends of polypropylene homopolymer and propylene-α-olefin interpolymer. Processes for producing polymeric compositions comprising control-cooling heated blends of polypropylene and propylene-α-olefin interpolymer. Such polymeric compositions can be employed in forming coated wires and cables.
Abstract:
An immunogenic composition comprising the Nm-MIP protein or an immunogenic part thereof or an analogue thereof, wherein the composition is capable of eliciting an immune response when administered to a human or non-human animal, and uses thereof. A pharmaceutical composition or a vaccine composition comprising the Nm-MIP protein or an immunogenic part thereof or an analogue thereof.
Abstract:
A process for the electrochemical deposition of a semiconductor material, which process comprises: (i) providing a non-aqueous solvent; (ii) providing at least one precursor salt which forms a source of the constituent elements within the semiconductor material to be deposited; and (iii) electrodepositing the semiconductor material onto an electrode substrate using the precursor salt in the non-aqueous solvent, characterized in that: (iv) the semiconductor material is a p-block or a post-transition metal semiconductor material containing at least one p-block element or post-transition metal; and (v) the non-aqueous solvent is a halocarbon non-aqueous solvent.
Abstract:
A method of labelling biological molecules with 18F, via attachment of fluorine to a metal complex, where the metal complex is conjugated to the biological molecule. The invention highlights the incorporation of hydrogen bonding (H-bonding) into the metal complex scaffold, and how this can be utilised to improve the kinetics of fluoride incorporation. Also provided are pharmaceutical compositions, kits and methods of in vivo imaging.
Abstract:
Apparatus (2) for providing information on at least one muscle (4) in a patient (6), which apparatus (2) comprises: (i) signal providing means (8) for providing measurement-enabling signals for the muscle (4); (ii) first contact electrodes (10) for enabling the measurement-enabling signals from the signal providing means to be received by the patient (6); (iii) measurement means (12) for measuring a parameter of the muscle (4), the parameter being such that it is affected by the measurement-enabling signals, and the parameter being such that it relates to at least one electrical property that is indicative of changes in tissue impedance caused by movement of the muscle (4); and (iv) a garment (14) which is for being worn over the muscle (4) in the patient (6) and which comprises an array (16) of separate electrically conducting areas (18), and the apparatus (2) being such that the first contact electrodes (10) are able to be positioned on the garment (14) at a predetermined precise position for obtaining the measured parameter and with the first contact electrodes (10) being in contact with those separate electrically conducting areas in the garment (14) that are over the predetermined position. The apparatus optionally includes neuromuscular stimulator means (46) for providing neuromuscular stimulation signals for the muscle (4).
