    摘要: Disclosed are novel thermostable non-reducing saccharides-forming enzyme, its preparation and uses. The enzyme is obtainable from the culture of microorganisms such as Sulfolobus acidocaldarius (ATCC 33909 and ATCC 49426) and Sulfolobus solfataricus (ATCC 35091 and ATCC 35092), and capable of forming non-reducing saccharides having a trehalose structure as an end unit when allowed to act on reducing partial starch hydrolysates at a temperature of over 55.degree. C. Glucoamylase and .alpha.-glucosidase readily yield trehalose when allowed to act on the non-reducing saccharides. These non-reducing saccharides and trehalose are extensively useful in food products, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals.

    摘要: A pine extract combined with a bamboo extract and/or a Japanese apricot extract effectively promotes the growth and regeneration of hair for human and animals. Administration of these compounds leads to no substantial side effects. The topically applied hair restorer containing these compounds is also effective in the prevention of alopecias, as well as in the protection of falling out of hair, dandruff, and itching of the scalp. These properties render these compounds useful in hair restorers for human and animals.

    摘要: A novel glycoside, 4.sup.G -alpha-D-glucopyranosyl rutin, is formed by a saccharide-transferring enzyme and glucoamylase in a solution which contains rutin together with glucoamylase. The 4.sup.G -alpha-D-glucopyranosyl rutin formed in such a solution is purified with a synthetic macroreticular resin, and crystallization in an organic solvent yields a complex crystal with the organic solvent. 4.sup.G -Alpha-D-glucopyranosyl rutin exhibits the same molecular absorption coefficient as intact rutin, and is readily water-soluble, substantially tasteless and odorless, and readily hydrolyzable in vivo to exhibit physiological activities inherent to rutin. These render 4.sup.G -alpha-D-glucopyranosyl rutin very useful as a highly-safe, natural yellow coloring agent, antioxidant, stabilizer, quality-improving agent, preventive, remedy, uv-absorbent and deterioration-preventing agent in foods, beverages, tobaccos, cigarets, feeds, pet foods, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and plastics.
