    Abstract: A method of detecting objects includes transmitting toward an object a first acoustic signal including a first set of pulses including a first number of pulses, and checking if a first echo signal resulting from reflection of the first acoustic signal is received with an intensity reaching an echo detection threshold. If the intensity of the first echo signal reaches the echo detection threshold, the distance to the object is calculated as a function of the time delay of the first echo signal. If the intensity of the first echo signal fails to reach the echo detection threshold, one or more further acoustic signals are transmitted including a set of pulses wherein the number of pulses is increased with respect to the number of pulses in said first acoustic signal.

    Abstract: A method is provided for performing a management of a multi-subscription SIM module. The multi-subscription SIM module includes at least one memory adapted to store at least a first and a second profile associated with a respective first and a second mobile network operator. The memory includes a volatile portion. The operation of storing includes installing or updating profiles by downloading one or more downloaded profiles from a remote host. The management includes selecting one or more enabled profiles including an application to be executed and allocating a partition of the volatile portion of the memory to the one or more enabled profile.

    Abstract: A method that is for operating a serial protocol interface includes a communication device that is configured to exchange data over a communication link by sending output data on the communication link, and receiving input data on the communication link. The input data is synchronous with a clock signal generated at the communication device and propagated over the communication link. The method also includes initializing operation by sending the output data on the communication link at a first data rate, detecting a signal transition in the input data received on the communication link, and exchanging data over the communication link at a second data rate when the signal transition is detected, the second data rate being higher than the first data, with the exchanging of data at the second data rate synchronized as a function of the signal transition.

    Abstract: A MEMS device includes a fixed supporting body forming a cavity, a mobile element suspended over the cavity, and an elastic element arranged between the fixed supporting body and the mobile element. First, second, third, and fourth piezoelectric elements are mechanically coupled to the elastic element, which has a shape symmetrical with respect to a direction. The first and second piezoelectric elements are arranged symmetrically with respect to the third and fourth piezoelectric elements, respectively. The first and fourth piezoelectric elements are configured to receive a first control signal, whereas the second and third piezoelectric elements are configured to receive a second control signal, which is in phase opposition with respect to the first control signal so that the first, second, third, and fourth piezoelectric elements deform the elastic element, with consequent rotation of the mobile element about the direction.
