A work implement requirement determination unit of a work vehicle determines a work implement required power based on the operation amount of a work implement operating member and the work implement pump pressure. A transmission requirement determination unit determines a transmission required power based on the vehicle speed and the operation amount of the accelerator operating member. When the sum of the work implement required power and the transmission required power is greater than a first distributable power that a predetermined preferential distribution power subtracted from a load upper limit power of the engine leaves, a distribution ratio determination unit allocates the smaller of a transmission compensation power and the transmission required power to a power transmission device and distributes the remainder of the first distributable power to the work implement pump and to a power transmission device.

A target-input-torque determination unit determines the target input torque on the basis of the transmission required horsepower. The target input torque is a target value for the torque to be inputted to a power-transmission device. A target-output-torque determination unit determines the target output torque, which is a target value for the torque to be outputted by the power-transmission device. A command-torque determination unit uses torque-balance information to determine command torque for the motor from the target input torque and the target output torque. The target-input-torque determination unit determines the upper limit of the target input torque on the basis of an upper-limit-target-input-torque line and the engine rotation speed. The upper-limit-target-input-torque line sets a value smaller than the target output torque of the engine determined using the engine required horsepower and the engine rotation speed for the upper-limit value of the target input torque.

An inexpensive engine assist device capable of performing stable energy regeneration from an accumulator and a working machine on which the engine assist device is mounted are provided. A variable capacity type main pump and a variable capacity type assist pump having a motor function and a pump function are directly connected to an engine. A return pressure oil flowing out from a fluid pressure actuator is temporarily accumulated by a sub-accumulator and is supplied to an inlet of the assist pump, and the assist pump pressurizes the return fluid pressure oil and supplies the return fluid pressure oil to a main accumulator. A controller calculates and controls an assist pump swash plate angle using an engine load torque, and assist starting torque or charge starting torque set by engine speed setting means, and introduces a pressure-accumulated fluid discharged from the main accumulator to the inlet of the assist pump or introduces a pressurized fluid discharged from an outlet of the assist pump into the main accumulator.

A method of operating a material handling machine, the machine including an engine, ground engaging means, and a control means selectively operable by an operator to move the ground engaging means, the method including the steps of: a) starting with the ground engaging means in a first position and the engine running at a first engine speed, b) actuating the control means to move the ground engaging means towards a second position, actuation of the control means causing the engine speed to increase, c) unactuating the control means so as to simultaneously stop movement of the ground engaging means and allow the engine speed to reduce towards the first engine speed.

A construction machine hydraulic drive system that performs load sensing control is capable of efficiently burning and removing deposits on a filter in an exhaust gas purifying device through pump output increasing control and to be free from faults in the pump output increasing control even when an actuator is operated during the pump output increasing control. A solenoid switching valve is switched so that output pressure of an engine speed detecting valve is guided to a pressure receiving portion of an LS control valve and a pressure receiving portion of an unloading valve when a start of regeneration is not directed, and delivery pressure of a pilot pump is guided to the pressure receiving portion and the pressure receiving portion when the start of the regeneration is directed, to thereby disable load sensing control to increase capacity of a main pump and increase set pressure of the unloading valve.

A load-haul-dump (LHD) vehicle for constrained spaces such as underground mines. The LHD includes a front axle and a rear axle, and an articulation in the vehicle between the front and rear axles. A diesel engine is positioned to the rear of the rear axle, and powers a hydraulic pump. A hydraulic motor is positioned forwardly of the articulation, and is hydraulically driven by the hydraulic pump. A transmission is driven by the hydraulic motor, and drives the front axle and rear axle via respective drive shafts.

The control device is provided with a controller configured to control a regeneration valve to switch to a regeneration state, and to control the flow rate of a second hydraulic pump to reduce the ejection flow rate of the second hydraulic pump in accordance with regeneration of hydraulic oil through the regeneration valve when a combined operation of lowering a boom and pressing an arm is performed. The controller outputs a command for setting the number of rotations of an engine to be smaller than the rotation number designated by a rotation number designating unit when the ejection flow rate of the second hydraulic pump is not larger than a predetermined flow rate during the combined operation.

A machine throttle system according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes a power system configured to operate at different speeds. The power system is coupled to a first throttle device and a second throttle device. A control module is communicatively coupled to the power system, the first throttle device, and the second throttle device. The control module is configured to cause the power system to operate at a first speed in response to the first throttle device being set to a level. The control module is also configured to cause the power system to increase in speed in response to the second throttle device when the first throttle device level is set below a predetermined value. The control module is further configured to cause the power system to decrease in speed in response to the second throttle device when the first throttle device level is set at or above the predetermined value.

An engine control system for a working machine measures the sulfur content of an exhaust gas since sulfur is detrimental to normal functioning of an exhaust gas aftertreatment device. Each time a key switch is turned ON to start an engine, the engine control system compares a remaining fuel amount memorized at the last stop of the engine and a remaining fuel amount detected at the current start of the engine. The engine control system performs a sulfur concentration measurement process only when the remaining fuel amount is increased. A target revolution speed Na appropriate for measuring the concentration of sulfur is set and when the temperature of the exhaust gas is within a predetermined temperature range and a target time has elapsed, the engine control system determines whether the sulfur concentration exceeds a threshold value. If the sulfur concentration exceeds the threshold value, an alarm display device is activated.
