    摘要: An engine air intake system including an engine air intake device and a plenum cooling compartment that is separate from the engine compartment by a baffle. The plenum cooling compartment is formed by the baffle, side doors, a fan door and a floor and contains a heat exchanger. A fan draws outside ambient air into the plenum cooling compartment, via perforations in the top and side doors, and out of the plenum cooling area via the heat exchanger. The cooling compartment is designed such that a distance between the heat exchanger and the baffle provides a gap from which the engine air intake device removes ambient air as a source for engine air. An option is provide for the system to withdraw outside ambient air from an area external to the plenum cooling compartment in high debris environments. The engine air intake system cleans the air before supplying it to the engine.

    摘要: An air cleaner housing includes an upper case, a partition wall and a lower case. The inside thereof is partitioned into an upper, filtered side and a lower unfiltered side. Intake funnel pipes, connected to front and rear cylinders, project into the filtered side. An air cleaner element is provided on the front side relative to a hollow plenum above the intake funnel pipes. Inlets in side surfaces of the unfiltered side face toward a V bank of the engine. During use, air enters the bottom of the housing, and is cleaned by the air cleaner element. The clean air flows through the filtered side of the housing, into the intake funnel pipes and toward the cylinders on the lower side. A raised portion is formed on the front upper side of the upper case, and the air cleaner element is disposed inside the raised portion.

    摘要: A throttle body of an electrically controlled throttle apparatus is constructed with a bore wall part, a motor housing part receiving a heavy component such as a motor and a connecting member that connects the bore wall part and the motor housing part with each other. The bore wall part has a cylindrical inner periphery for rotatably receiving a circular-shaped throttle valve. The connecting member is constructed with plural plate-shaped ribs. Thus, the connecting member can be rigid without becoming a thick member. Therefore, the connecting member can be restricted from contracting in its molding process, so that circularity of the cylindrical inner periphery of the bore wall part can be maintained. Thus, the cylindrical inner periphery of the bore wall part can rotatably receive the circular-shaped throttle valve without arising interference against each other, and airtightness of the throttle valve can be maintained, when the throttle valve is in the full close position.
