Abstract: Exemplary embodiments of a system and method can be provided for measuring a level and/or details of how engaging, effective or memorable a stimulus that may be based on information associated with one or more subjects' neuronal, physiological and/or behavioral responses to the stimulus. In addition, an exemplary embodiment of a computer-accessible medium containing executable instructions thereon can also be provided which can be executed by a processing arrangement. For example, when the processing arrangement executes the instructions, the processing arrangement can be configured to, e.g., receive neuronal, physiological and/or behavioral data one or more subjects being presented with stimuli, determine further data associated with a measure of inter-subject similarity of the neuronal, physiological and/or behavioral data, and identify particular portions of the stimuli that meet a pre-determined criteria relating to the further data associated with the measure of inter-subject similarity. In addition, the processing arrangement can be further configured to display and/or store identifiers of the particular portions of the stimuli in a storage arrangement in a user-accessible format and/or a user-readable format.

Abstract: The invention provides peptides that can reactivate p53 mutants efficiently and specifically, as well as methods that allow the identification, selection and isolation of such peptides, in a precise, cost and time effective manner. In particular, there are provided mutant p53 reactivating peptides that can restore the native wild type p53 folding, and hence the tumor suppressor activity, to the mutant p53 protein. Such peptides are useful for treating various conditions and diseases in which p53 is mutated.

Abstract: There is provided a method comprising: receiving a graph comprising nodes with directional edges each associated with a variable weight representing an interaction strength of the respective direction edge adjustable according to a respective range; calculating a current global value defined by a function of the variable weights of the directional edges; calculating a mismatch between the current global value and a desired global value, wherein multiple different combinations of assigned variable weights of the directional edges are associated with the desired global value within the tolerance requirement; determining when the mismatch is within a tolerance requirement representing desired global values; and one of: randomly adjusting the variable weights of the directional edges within the respective range, and iterating the calculating the mismatch and determining when the mismatch is not within the tolerance requirement, and outputting determined values for the variable weights when the mismatch is within the tolerance requirement.

Abstract: The present invention relates to novel Ruthenium complexes of formulae A1-A4 and their use, inter alia, for (1) dehydrogenative coupling of alcohols to esters; (2) hydrogenation of esters to alcohols (including hydrogenation of cyclic esters (lactones) or cyclic di-esters (di-lactones), or polyesters); (3) preparing amides from alcohols and amines—(including the preparation of polyamides (e.g., polypeptides) by reacting dialcohols and diamines and/or polymerization of amino alcohols and/or forming cyclic dipeptides from p-aminoalcohols; (4) hydrogenation of amides (including cyclic dipeptides, polypeptides and polyamides) to alcohols and amines; (5) hydrogenation of organic carbonates (including polycarbonates) to alcohols or hydrogenation of carbamates (including polycarbamates) or urea derivatives to alcohols and amines; (6) dehydrogenation of secondary alcohols to ketones; (7) amidation of esters (i.e., synthesis of amides from esters and amines); (8) acylation of alcohols using esters; (9) coupling of alcohols with water and a base to form carboxylic acids; and (10) preparation of amino acids or their salts by coupling of amino alcohols with water and a base. The present, invention further relates to the use of certain known Ruthenium complexes for the preparation of amino acids or their salts from amino alcohols.

Abstract: A method for modifying a solar thermal power plant operating on conventional oil based technology into a hybrid solar thermal power plant includes: providing an oil-based solar thermal power plant, which includes a solar collection system with at least one radiation absorber tube containing a heat transfer oil to be heated by the solar collection system; providing a molten salts solar thermal power plant, which includes a solar collection system to heat a molten salts mixture; and coupling the respective plants such that the hybrid solar thermal power plant is configured to heat medium temperature steam generated by the oil based solar power plant by the molten salts mixture thereby producing high temperature steam and subsequently supplying it to a steam turbine to generate electricity.
