Abstract:
A cushion material 10 for hot pressing includes a cushion part 1. The cushion part 1 includes a woven fabric 5, in which a twisted yarn is used for at least one of warp 5a or weft 5b, and a polymer material 6 adhered to a surface of a fiber forming the woven fabric 5. The twisted yarn used for at least one of the warp 5a or the weft 5b of the woven fabric 5 is formed by twisting a plurality of texturized yarns made of glass fiber.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a washable multi-component magnetic floor mat. The floor mat contains a textile component and a base component. The textile component and the base component are attached to one another by magnetic attraction. The magnetic attraction is provided by incorporation of magnetic particles in both the textile and base components. The textile component is designed to be soiled, washed, and re-used, thereby providing ideal end-use applications in areas such as building entryways. The present invention eliminates the need to wash the base component of the floor mat which results in environmental, cost and labor conservation. Alignment and deployment of the textile component with the base component in an efficient manner is also described herein.
Abstract:
A composite roofing membrane containing a single ply roofing membrane containing a first membrane, a scrim, and a second membrane. The first side of the first membrane forms the upper surface of the composite roofing membrane and contains a thermoplastic polymer. The scrim has a machine and cross-machine direction and contains a yarn or fiber selected from the group consisting of polyester and glass, and a tensile strength in the machine direction is at least about 100 N/cm2. The second membrane contains a thermoplastic polymer. The composite roofing membrane also contains a fire resistant fleece containing a plurality of FR rayon staple fibers and a plurality of char scaffold fibers selected from the group consisting of partially oxidized acrylonitrile and silica staple fibers.
Abstract:
A fibre structure formed from dissolvable glass fibres is provided, the dissolvable glass fibres being formed from one or more boron compounds and one or more alkali compounds. The dissolvable glass can be formed into filaments, rovings and staple fibres of varying composition, length and diameter dependent on functionality and purpose. A mixture of chemicals components are heated, melted and then drawn or extruded into dissolvable filaments, rovings and staple fibres for use in a fibre-reinforced composite part or as a preservative in the internal and surface treatment of solid wood and engineered composite panels. A water-soluble surface coating may be applied to adjust dissolution rate and facilitate binding into an air-laid nonwoven mat or incorporation into other matrices.
Abstract:
A non-woven fiber mat for lead-acid batteries is provided. The non-woven fiber mat includes glass fibers coated with a sizing composition, a binder composition, and organic active compounds, wherein the organic active compounds are effective in reducing or preventing sulphation in lead-acid batteries.
Abstract:
A carrier material for vinyl floor covering, wherein the carrier material includes a nonwoven layer containing at least 50 wt. % of thermoplastic fibers and a scrim for eliminating wrinkles in the vinyl floor covering. The scrim includes weft yarns having a linear density of 28 tex or less. The carrier material prevents the formation of surface irregularities and printing errors in the vinyl floor covering.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a non-woven fabric made of inorganic fibers, which has a coating of at least two layers on one of both surfaces, wherein(i) the non-woven fabric made of inorganic fibers has a thickness of at least 0.2 mm,(ii) the first layer of the coating comprises particles, whose particle size is between 50 and 100 μm,(iii) the second layer of the coating, which is applied onto the first layer, comprises particles, wherein more than 90% of the particles have a particle size of less than 20 μm.The non-woven fabric made of inorganic fibers according to the invention, in particular glass non-woven fabrics, are in particular suitable for producing decorative coatings for floor coverings, ceiling coverings and wall coverings.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a self-adhesive wall covering comprising a glass textile with a closed structure, consisting of glass fibers and of a water-permeable polymer binder, and an adhesive coating comprising both a pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) and a water-activable latent adhesive. The definitive attachment to the wall of this repositionable self-adhesive covering takes place, after hanging, by applying one or more coats of water-based paint.
Abstract:
The present invention pertains to carpet and method of making it. In one aspect, the carpet includes (a) a primary backing which has a face and a back surface, (b) a plurality of fibers attached to the primary backing and extending from the face of the primary backing and exposed at the back surface of the primary backing, (c) an adhesive backing, (d) an optional secondary backing adjacent to the adhesive backing, and (e) at least one homogeneously branched linear ethylene polymer. The method includes extrusion coating at least one homogeneously branched linear ethylene polymer onto the back surface of a primary backing to provide an adhesive backing. The method can include additional steps or procedures, either separately or in various combinations. Additional steps and procedures include preheating the primary backing prior the extrusion step, multilayer adhesive backings, washing or scouring the primary backing prior the extrusion step, and utilizing adhesive polymeric additives, high heat content fillers, blowing agents and/or implosion agents. The constructions and methods described herein are particularly suited for making carpet tile.
