    摘要: An apparatus and method for controlling an electro-magnetic particle clutch is provided. The apparatus includes first through third sensors, a memory, first through fourth calculating devices, first through third determining devices and a controller. The first sensor detects a throttle opening and outputs a first detected signal. The second sensor detects an actual engine revolution speed and outputs a second detected signal. The first calculating device calculates an engine torque in accordance with a first relationship and outputs a first calculated signal. The second calculating device calculates a tentative desired revolution speed and outputs a second calculated signal. The third sensor detects at least one of a plurality conditions in which the vehicle begins moving and outputs at least one of a plurality of detected signals. The first determining device determines a total compensation value in accordance with a third relationship and outputs a first determined signal. The third calculating device calculates a desired revolution speed and outputs a third calculated signal. The fourth calculating device calculates a feed back gain in accordance with a fifth relationships and outputs a fourth calculated signal. The second determining device determines an optimum torque in accordance with a sixth relationship, and outputs a second determined signal. The third determining device determines a control voltage in accordance with a seventh relationship, and outputs the third determined signal. The controller controls electric current supplied to a magnetizing coil of the electro-magnetic particle clutch in accordance with the determined control voltage.

    摘要: A control system for transferring torque from a first, offgoing clutch to a second, oncoming clutch while a gear shift is being made includes speed sensors for determining the speeds of the engine shaft and the output shaft of the transmission, a gear selector position indicator, a throttle position indicator and a gear ratio sensor. Solenoid operated valves open and close a source of high pressure fluid to the clutches, whose engagement and disengagement holds the gear elements of the transmission by means of which the various speed ratios are produced. An electronic computer is supplied with the digital equivalent of the shaft speeds, the position of the gear selector and of the throttle. The engine speed-output shaft speed ratio is used as a feedback signal on the basis of which an error between its value and a commanded value is determined. An equation for determining the duty cycle is repetitively calculated and its value converted to a pulse width modulated electrical current that is applied to the solenoid windings. The equation corrects a previously calculated duty cycle with the feedback error value.

    摘要: An arrangement for the automatic actuation of an automobile clutch operatively located between an automobile engine and a manually shiftable transmission, of the kind that includes a servo motor responsive to auxiliary power applied thereto for effecting engagement and disengagement of the clutch, and control means for controlling the auxiliary power delivery to the servo motor as a function of the position of the accelerator pedal, or the clutch input (engine output) and output (transmission input) rotational speeds, or both, and wherein the control means controls the auxiliary power delivery to the servo motor so that the rotational speed of the engine attains a prescribed rotational speed which is a function of the position of the accelerator pedal, the auxiliary power delivery being an application pulse to the servo motor of sufficient duration to almost completely overcome the free travel of the clutch.

    摘要: A vehicle driveline torque managing process provides a motor driven actuator that manages clamping forces exerted on a clutch pack and regulates a coupling of power between a driveshaft and one of the axles of a vehicle, based on clutch positions. The process derives coupling torque values by stepping a motor from a maximum clutch separation position through a series of clutch positions while recording a motor driven commanded torque value at each step, up to a maximum clutch compression position having a maximum commanded motor torque value. Then, each motor driven commanded torque value is converted into respective clutch force values as a function of clutch position, thereby relating each clutch torque to a clutch position based on conversion tables stored in a controller that are associated with physical factors that influence clutch torque for each of the respective clutch actuator positions.

An angle sensor can detect the angle of rotation of a cam member. A cam face can include a first cam face for connecting the clutch through the linear motion of the operating member. A second cam face, formed continuously to the first cam face, can disconnect the clutch through the linear motion of the operating member. The angle sensor 21 can include a first angle sensor which can detect an angular range of the first cam face, and a second angle sensor which can detect an angular range of the second cam face. The dead zones E of the angle sensors are disposed in such a manner as not to overlap with each other.
