Abstract: Tracking intrinsic and extrinsic vehicle parameters for optimizing vehicle performance is presented herein. A method can include consolidating sets of data associated with a vehicle to generate a model; generating, using the model, recommendation data representing a recommendation associated with an operation of the vehicle; and in response to receiving a request from a device of the vehicle corresponding to the operation of the vehicle, sending, based on the request, a message comprising the recommendation directed to the device of the vehicle. In an example, the method can further include determining, based on crowdsourced data representing the characteristic of the element of the vehicle, whether the characteristic satisfies a defined condition with respect to the operation of the vehicle.

Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, determining, by a system comprising a processor, a driver profile according to a driver identity for a driver of a vehicle, selecting a driver-specific enforcement scenario for the vehicle according to the driver profile and traffic enforcement information that is associated with a vehicle location, and presenting an in-vehicle alert to convey the driver-specific enforcement scenario to the driver. Abstract: The present invention relates to a vehicle group management apparatus, a vehicle group management method, and a vehicle group management program that manage a plurality of vehicles moving in line as a vehicle group, and the vehicle group management apparatus includes: a first management unit to manage vehicle information including position information indicating positions of a plurality of other-vehicles moving in line; and a calculation unit to calculate vehicle group information indicating the vehicle group including at least one of the other-vehicles, using a distance between other-vehicles based on the position information and a movement characteristic of an own-vehicle. Therefore, it is possible to provide an appropriate vehicle group in accordance with each vehicle.

Abstract: In one embodiment, an attribute application associates content with a road segment. In operation, the attribute application generates a spatial reference identifier based on coordinates associated with the attribute. The attribute application then generates an attribute based on the content and the spatial reference identifier. Finally, the attribute application transmits the road segment attribute to a navigation system that performs at least one navigation operation based on a road database and the attribute. Because the attribute is specified based on spatial referencing, the attribute application requires fewer resources to generate attributes than conventional approaches that generate different attributes for different versions and formats of road databases.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a speed limit application associates speed limits with road segments based on a road graph. In operation, the speed limit application selects a source road segment that meets a target road segment at an intersection based on the road graph. The source road segment is associated with a speed limit. Subsequently, the speed limit application determines a confidence value associated with extrapolating the first speed limit to the target road segment based on the first road graph. The speed limit application then determines that the confidence value indicates that a confidence in the extrapolation satisfies a minimum confidence requirement. Consequently, the speed limit application generates an attribute that associates the first speed limit with the target road segment. Finally, the speed limit application causes a navigation-related operation to be performed based on the attribute.

An example method includes determining that a vehicle is approaching an upcoming traffic signal. The method may further include determining a state of one or more traffic signals other than the upcoming traffic signal. Additionally, the method may also include determining an estimate of a state of the upcoming traffic signal based on a relationship between the state of the one or more traffic signals other than the upcoming traffic signal and the state of the upcoming traffic signal.

Abstract: A vehicle onboard communication terminal in a mobile communication system that establishes vehicle-to-vehicle communication and road-to-vehicle communication by using a carrier wave and employs Carrier Sense Multiple Access/Collision Avoidance method includes: a reception processing portion that receives road-to-vehicle communication data transmitted from a roadside device and vehicle-to-vehicle communication data transmitted from a different vehicle onboard communication terminal; a transmission processing portion; a transmission control portion that controls an operation of the transmission processing portion and has a regular transmission mode and a passive transmission mode; and a determination portion. The transmission control portion detects usage of the carrier frequency when the transmission control portion is operating in the regular transmission mode. the transmission control portion stops the transmission of the vehicle-to-vehicle communication data and receives data addressed to the vehicle onboard communication terminal from the roadside device when the transmission control portion is operating in the passive transmission mode.

Abstract: An approach is provided for determining an escape point for at least one predicted route, and causing a timely notification based on attributes associated with the escape point. The approach involves determining at least one predicted route for at least one vehicle. The approach also involves determining one or more traffic events associated with the at least one predicted route. The approach further involves determining at least one escape point for the one or more traffic events, wherein the at least one escape point represents at least one location at which the one or more traffic events can be avoided via at least one detour route. The approach also involves causing, at least in part, a presentation of one or more notifications related to the at least one escape point, the one or more traffic events, or a combination thereof based, at least in part, on characteristic information, availability information, or a combination thereof associated with the at least one escape point.

Abstract: Embodiments described herein provide approaches for visualizing navigation information for a connected autonomous vehicle. Specifically, navigation communications (e.g., communications that are used in the decision making process of autonomous vehicles) from a plurality of vehicles within a particular area are received by a server. The server analyzes all of the navigation communications to determine which of the navigation communications is relevant to a particular connected autonomous vehicle. These relevant navigation communications are used by the server to generate contextual information about the other vehicles in the area. This contextual information is applied to a video display of the area.
