摘要:
A method for producing highly pure LPF-HA (Leucocytosis-promoting Factor agglutinin) from culture media of Bordetella pertussis in a high yield by an affinity chromatography using a denatured ceruloplasmin as a ligand. The LPF-HA obtained by this invention is highly pure and does not contain almost endotoxin of B. pertussis and is useful for the preparation of various reagents utilizing the physiological activities, a medicine for treating diabetes, and a pertussis vaccine.
摘要:
The present invention relates to processes for Bordetella fermentation and virulence factor production, especially PT production, for large scale manufacturing. More particularly, processes including a medium conditioning step carried out prior to inoculation.

The present invention discloses methods and materials for delivering a cargo compound into a cancer cell. Delivery of the cargo compound is accomplished by the use of protein transduction domains derived from cupredoxins. The invention further discloses methods for treating cancer and diagnosing cancer.
摘要:
The present invention relates to compositions comprising peptides that may be variants, derivatives and structural equivalents of cupredoxins that inhibit the development of premalignant lesions in mammalian cells, tissues and animals. Specifically, these compositions may comprise azurin from Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and/or the 50-77 residue region of azurin (p28). The present invention further relates to compositions that may comprise cupredoxin(s), and/or variants, derivatives or structural equivalents of cupredoxins, that retain the ability to inhibit the development of premalignant lesions in mammalian cells, tissues or animals. These compositions may be peptides or pharmaceutical compositions, among others. The compositions of the invention may be used to prevent the development of premalignant lesions in mammalian cells, tissues and animals, and thus prevent cancer.
摘要:
A genetically attenuated Bordetella pertussis strain includes a mutated pertussis toxin (ptx) gene, and a heterologous ampG gene, and a hybrid protein including the N-terminal fragment of filamentous haemagglutinin (FHA) and a heterologous epitope or antigenic protein or protein fragment, different from FHA. The strain can be used in an attenuated vaccine for the treatment or prophylaxis of an infectious disease.
摘要:
Described herein are compositions, vaccines, and methods that include use of a mutated Bordetella strain against allergic diseases such as asthma and skin inflammation. Also described are kits. Other compositions, vaccines, and methods are also described.

A massive clonal expansion of activated CD8+ T-cells with increased frequency of HPV 16-specific CD8+ T-cells was discovered to be a characteristic of oral lichen planus (OLP), indicating a causal link between HPV infection and the dysimmune process. The invention relates to compositions and methods for the diagnosis and treatment of OLP patients.

Moenomycin inhibits bacterial growth by clocking the transglycosylase activity of class A penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), which are key enzymes in bacterial cell wall synthesis. The binding affinities of moenomycin A with various truncated PBPs were compared showing that the transmembrane domain is important for moenomycin binding. Full-length class-A PBPs from 16 bacterial species were produced, and their binding activities showed a correlation with the antimicrobial activity of moenomycin against Enterococcus faecalis and Staphylococcus aureus. Moreover, a fluorescence anisotropy-based high-throughput assay was developed and used successfully for identification of transglycosylase inhibitors.

The invention relates to a recombinant protein comprising one or several polypeptides bearing one or several epitopes of one or several HPV antigens, said polypeptides being inserted in the same or different permissive sites of an adenylate cyclase (CyaA) protein or of a fragment thereof, wherein said CyaA fragment retains the property of said adenylate cyclase protein to target Antigen Presenting Cells. It also concerns polynucleotides encoding the same. The recombinant protein or the polynucleotide can be used for the design of therapeutic means against HPV infection or against its malignant effects.
