摘要: A method of detecting one or more analytes comprising or consisting of hydrogen peroxide using surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) is provided. The method includes providing a SERS-active substrate having at least one metal carbonyl cluster compound attached thereon; contacting one or more analytes with the SERS-active substrate; and detecting changes in surface enhanced Raman signal from the at least one metal carbonyl cluster compound as an indication of the presence of one or more analytes comprising or consisting of hydrogen peroxide.

摘要: A method of quantifying ammonia, the method includes performing a first reaction in which a test liquid containing ammonia is reacted with adenosine triphosphate and L-glutamic acid in the presence of glutamine synthetase to produce phosphoric acid, performing a second reaction in which the produced phosphoric acid is reacted with pyruvic acid in the presence of pyruvate oxidase, and measuring a component consumed or produced by the second reaction, to quantify ammonia, wherein a reaction to produce adenosine triphosphate from adenosine diphosphate mediated by pyruvate kinase is not carried out.

摘要: An apparatus is provided for sensing an analyte in a fluid. The apparatus includes a fluid collecting device configured to collect the fluid containing the analyte; a fluid input in fluid communication with the fluid collecting device configured to input the fluid containing the analyte into the fluid collecting device, an analyte interactant in fluid communication with the fluid collecting device, wherein the analyte interactant, when contacted by the analyte, reacts to cause a first change in thermal energy within the fluid collecting device; a modulator that causes a second change in thermal energy; a thermal sensing device comprising at least one pyroelectric device thermally coupled to the fluid collecting device to generate a first signal in response to at least one of the first change in thermal energy and the second change in thermal energy; a control device operatively coupled to the thermal sensing device and the modulator that generates a second signal, wherein the second signal comprises information useful in characterizing the analyte. A related method also is disclosed.

摘要: Chemiluminescent compositions, methods, assays and kits for oxidative enzymes are described. Further disclosed are dioxetane compounds of the form: where R can independently be any branched alkyl or cycloalkyl group which provides stabilization for the dioxetane or where both R groups together form a cycloalkyl or polycycloalkyl moiety spiro bound to the dioxetane ring, wherein each R group or the spiro bound moiety can be unsubstituted or substituted with one or more electron-withdrawing groups or electron donating groups, or groups providing preferential oxidative isozyme substrate recognition, and wherein R1 is an aryl group, or an alkyl group of 1-20 carbon atoms, which can be optionally substituted with 1 or more halogen atoms, and wherein T is an aryl or heteroaryl ring capable of emitting light upon enzyme activated decomposition of the dioxetane I. Kits, methods and assays are also disclosed that comprise the dioxetane compounds.

摘要: Provided are an amadoriase that is less likely to be influenced by oxygen concentration and a method and a reagent kit for measurement of HbA1c using such amadoriase. Provided are an amadoriase that is obtained via substitution of one or more amino acid residues at a position or positions corresponding to the position(s) selected from the group consisting of positions 280, 267, 269, 54, and 241 of the amadoriase derived from the genus Coniochaeta, a method for measurement of HbA1c, a reagent kit for measurement, and a sensor using such amadoriase. The modified amadoriase according to the invention has a lowered oxidase activity and an enhanced dehydrogenase activity, and this enables the use of an electron mediator, and this reduces the influence of oxygen concentration. Thus, HbA1c can be measured with high sensitivity.

摘要: The present application provides novel inhibitors of indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase-1 and/or indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase-2 and/or tryptophan 2,3-dioxygenase, metabolites thereof, and pharmaceutically acceptable salts or prodrugs thereof. Also provided are methods for preparing these compounds. A therapeutically effective amount of one or more of the compounds of formula (I) is useful in treating diseases resulting from dysregulation of the kynurenine pathway. Compounds of formula (I) act by inhibiting the enzymatic activity or expression of indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase-1 and/or indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase-2 and/or tryptophan 2,3-dioxygenase.

摘要: Provided are a blood component measurement device and the like capable of further suppressing the errors in measuring blood components. A first current value that is generated by oxidation-reduction when a first voltage is applied to a first electrode pair 21, 22 composing a biosensor 1 is measured, a second current value that is generated when a second voltage is applied to a second electrode pair 23, 24 composing the biosensor 1 is measured, and then the first current and the second current are converted to give a blood component amount. Within a predetermined period after the introduction of blood into the biosensor 1, the first current is measured multiple times and the second current is measured once. A CPU 72 converts a plurality of first current values and the second current value to obtain a plurality of blood component amounts and calculates the blood component amount for the blood introduced into the biosensor 1 from said plurality of blood component amounts.

摘要: Disclosed is a method for diagnosing a mood disorder or susceptibility to a mood disorder, including depressive disorders and bipolar disorder, from a biological sample taken from a subject. The method includes detecting markers of monoamine oxidase-A (MAO-A) in the biological sample; determining MAO-A concentration from the markers; and correlating the MAO-A concentration in the biological sample to a control group which does not have a mood disorder in order to diagnose or determine susceptibility to the mood disorder in the subject. Also disclosed is a method of detecting peripheral markers of MAO-A for the diagnosis of a mood disorder or susceptibility to a mood disorder. Also provided are polypeptide markers.
