One preferred composition of the invention includes: (a) greater than about 95 weight percent of polyoxymethylene, (b) between about 0.01 to about 0.1 weight percent of 3 salicyloyl-amido-1,2,4 triazole or tris-2-tert.butyl- 4-thio-(2'methyl-4'hydroxy-5'tert.butyl) phenyl-5-methyl phenyl phosphite, (c) between about 0.015 to about 0.4 weight percent of 2,4,6-triamino-sym-triazine, (d) between about 0.25 to about 1.0 weight percent of tetrakis(methylene-(3,5-di-tert-butyl- 4-hydroxyhydrocinnamate)) methane, (e) between about 0.05 to about 0.2 weight percent of calcium 12-hydroxystearate, and (f) between about 0.1 to about 0.3 weight percent of N-N'-ethylenebisstearamide. Exemplary melt-processed polymeric compositions can be made by reacting an alkoxy silane with the polyarylene sulfide resin and/or the polyaryl-ether-ketone resin to produce a graft copolymer of a portion of one or both of the resins, sufficient to render the composition uniform and homogeneous. It is normally preferred for the exemplary organosilane compound, to be an amino silane. The subject invention further reveals an insulated wire comprising (1) an electrical conductor and (2) a layer of the melt-processed alloy composition; and fiber reinforced composites comprising fibers substantially fully impregnated with the alloy polymeric composition.

The present invention provides multi-arm siloxane-based molecules suitable for use as a drug delivery vehicle comprising a central core molecule that comprises a cyclic or cubic siloxane, and a plurality of arms attached to the central core molecule, wherein each arm comprises an organic moiety. The multi-arm siloxane-based molecules described herein are suitable for encapsulation of a therapeutic agent. The invention further includes pharmaceutical compositions comprising the claimed multi-arm siloxane-based molecules and an encapsulated therapeutic agent in combination with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. Methods of making and using the multi-arm siloxane-based molecules are also provided.
