摘要: A honeycomb structure includes a ceramic block formed by bonding a plurality of pillar-shaped honeycomb fired bodies by interposing an adhesive layer therebetween, and a sealing material layer provided on the periphery of the ceramic block. Each of the honeycomb fired bodies has a large number of cells disposed in parallel with one another in a longitudinal direction with a cell wall therebetween. The adhesive layer and the sealing material layer are integrally formed with substantially no interface to divide the two layers.

摘要: A honeycomb structure includes a plurality of honeycomb fired bodies and an adhesive layer. The plurality of honeycomb fired body has a longitudinal direction and a plurality of cell walls extending along the longitudinal direction to define a plurality of cells. The adhesive layer is provided between the plurality of honeycomb fired bodies to connect the honeycomb fired bodies. Pore diameters of pores in the adhesive layer are about 300 μm or less. A ratio of a total area of pores having a pore diameter of at least about 50 μm and at most about 300 μm and an aspect ratio of at least about 1 and at most about 1.5 in a cross-section perpendicular to the longitudinal direction to a total area of pores having a pore diameter of at least about 50 μm and at most about 300 μm is about 90% or more.

The adhesive strength A is lower than an adhesive strength B between peripheral portion honeycomb fired bodies out of the honeycomb fired bodies measured by the three-point bending strength test. The peripheral portion honeycomb fired bodies form a part of a periphery the honeycomb structure.

摘要: A honeycomb structure includes periphery honeycomb fired bodies which include at least a single piece of a periphery small honeycomb fired body having in the cross-section a cross-sectional area which is less than about 60% of a cross-sectional area of a single piece of the center-portion honeycomb fired body. A cross-sectional area of a periphery honeycomb bonded body in the cross-section is about 60% or more of the cross-sectional area of a single piece of the center-portion honeycomb fired body. The second adhesive layer is provided between the periphery small honeycomb fired body and the at least one piece of the honeycomb fired body. The second adhesive layer has thermal conductivity higher than thermal conductivity of a first adhesive layer. The second adhesive layer has Young's modulus higher than Young's modulus of the first adhesive layer. The center-portion honeycomb fired bodies are bonded together with the first adhesive layer.

摘要: A honeycomb structure includes a plurality of honeycomb fired bodies and an adhesive layer. The plurality of honeycomb fired body has a longitudinal direction and a plurality of cell walls extending along the longitudinal direction to define a plurality of cells. 摘要: A honeycomb structure is manufactured by molding a pillar-shaped honeycomb molded body having a large number of cells disposed in parallel with one another in a longitudinal direction with a cell wall therebetween by extrusion-molding a raw material composition including a ceramic powder and a binder, and carrying out a firing treatment on the honeycomb molded body to manufacture a honeycomb fired body. A plurality of the honeycomb fired bodies are provided, and both end faces of each of the plurality of the honeycomb fired bodies are hold with a holding member after positioning the plurality of the honeycomb fired bodies on a predetermined position. An adhesive paste is injected into a gap between the plurality of honeycomb fired bodies held on the predetermined position. The adhesive paste is dried and solidified to form an adhesive layer.

Herein, a cross-sectional area of the honeycomb unit on a cross-section perpendicular to the length direction is at least about 5 cm2 and at most about 50 cm2, the honeycomb unit includes inorganic fibers and/or whiskers in addition to inorganic particles, and a Young's modulus of the honeycomb unit is at least about 50% and at most about 150% of a Young's modulus of the sealing material layer.
