    摘要: In an overdrive planetary gear unit of an automatic transmission, a helical planetary pinion has its front portion cut to form an cutout portion and to have an axial-direction cross section asymmetrical in the direction of its rotation axis in order to uniformize, in the axial direction, the load imposed upon a bearing disposed around the circumference of the pinion shaft.In a front planetary gear unit of a main transmission of the automatic transmission, a helical planetary pinion has its rear portion cut to form an cutout portion and to have an axial-direction cross section asymmetrical in the direction of its rotation axis in order to uniformize the load imposed upon a bearing disposed around the circumference of the pinion shaft.It is thereby possible to reduce the weight of each planetary pinion and, hence, the centrifugal force acting on the pinion. In the overdrive planetary gear unit, the center of gravity of the planetary pinion is shifted toward the rear end of the pinion, and the centrifugal force acting on this pinion is therefore smaller at the front end, thereby reducing the load imposed on the bearing at the front end. In the front planetary pinion gear unit of the main transmission unit, the center of gravity of the planetary pinion is shifted toward the front end, and the centrifugal force is therefore smaller at the rear end, thereby reducing the load imposed on the bearing at the rear end. The non-uniformity of the load on each bearing in the axial direction is thereby reduced.

    摘要: A drive unit comprises an electric motor, a drive unit casing 2 accommodating therein the electric motor, an inverter 3 that controls the electric motor, and a flow passage of a refrigerant that cools the inverter. The inverter defines a space R between it and a heat sink 5 integral with a substrate of the inverter, and is mounted to the drive unit casing, the space is compartmented by separation means 8 into a first chamber R1 facing the heat sink and a second chamber R2 facing the drive unit casing, and is communicated to the flow passage of the refrigerant, and the heat sink comprises heat-sink-side fins 56 extending into the first chamber and apart from the separation means. Thereby, temperature gradient can be provided between the both chambers, and effective cooling of the heat sink and the drive unit casing can be made possible with less flow rate of the refrigerant as compared with the case where the entire space comprising a single layer is cooled by the refrigerant according to the heat-resistant temperature of the inverter.

    摘要: A hybrid vehicle is capable of complying with a request for immediate acceleration while the vehicle is moving at a low speed and of being powered by a motor small in size so that the vehicle can be small in size and light in weight. The driving force of engine is supplemented by that of a motor. An output shaft is provided between the engine and the motor. A controller responds to a high torque requirement by increasing engine torque. When the vehicle moves normally, the engine is operated in an output range of high efficiency and low-pollution with output to an output shaft shared by a generator and motor, and while the generator generates electric-power, the engine output is combined with the output of the motor to drive the vehicle wheels. On the other hand, when high torque is required, since the electric power generation by the generator is suspended and the engine torque is increased, the output transferred from the engine to the drive shaft 1b is increased in proportion to the increase of the engine speed, with the result that desired driving state of the vehicle is ensured.

    摘要: A hybrid drive unit includes a three-element planetary gear coupled to two motors, and a reduction planetary gear which is drivingly connected to the three-element planetary gear and switches modes by controlling a clutch and a brake. A three-element direct drive mode is able to be achieved by providing another clutch which couples together any two elements of the reduction planetary gear, and locking up the reduction planetary gear. As a result, motor output is reduced compared with a four-element direct drive mode of related art during high-speed running, and energy recovery efficiency during regeneration can also be improved.
