    摘要: A monitoring apparatus is disclosed that includes a.) at least one acoustic pickup, b.) a sound pressure sensor acoustically coupled to the at least one acoustic pickup, and c.) a computing device interfaced to the sound pressure sensor. The at least one acoustic pickup may be submerged in or located in proximity to flowing fluid. The sound sensor is configured to acquire sound intensity waveforms naturally generated by the flowing fluid as a source of data patterns for training the apparatus as well stimuli used to generate responses about flow conditions. The computing device is configured to quantify flow parameters of the flowing fluid from sound utterances and visual appearances intrinsically expressed by the flow using machine learning models.

    摘要: An system containing an integrated circuit having two separate potentiometers combined on a single substrate; each potentiometer having three separate output terminals, two being connected to the ends of a resistor string, and the third being a "wiper" terminal electrically connected to a point within the length of the resistor string. All three terminals of each potentiometer electrically float with respect to the other pins of the integrated circuit. Control logic is used to select the point in the resistor string where the wiper terminal is to connect. An additional control signal is used to connect an additional wiper to one of the two separate wiper terminals permitting the connection of the two resistor strings in series.

    摘要: An innovative microboard package, which includes not only a row of edge connector contacts along one long edge thereof, but also includes another row of edge connector contacts along the other long edge. The contacts are connected so that the functionality of the board can be changed merely by choosing one of the two orientations for insertion. For example, one embodiment provides a microprocessor module if insertion is done in one direction, and a microcontroller module if insertion in the other direction. Optionally, the row of contacts which is not inserted into the mother board can be connected to a jumper cable, using a simple connector header.

    摘要: A wand which provides rapid contact to a two-terminal electronic token data module. The wand includes one contact which will make contact to the periphery of an electronic token which the wand is pressed against, and one contact which will make contact to the center of the token. Preferably the wand includes a base portion which is shaped to be worn on the second joint of a user's finger. This wand can be used for very rapid manual contacting of electronic tokens in various physical positions. This can be very advantageous in a variety of data collection/updating applications such as retail checkout, or tracking work-in-progress in a computer-assisted-manufacturing environment.

    摘要: A test system in a standalone chassis without a power cord. The testing subsystem (e.g. a spectrophotometer) is microprocessor-controlled, and the microprocessor is disconnected from the battery during normal operation. An ancillary integrated circuit controls the power supply to the microprocessor, and periodically powers up a proximity sensor subsystem (e.g. a photodiode/LED pair), without powering up the microprocessor. The ancillary circuit powers up the microprocessor IF the proximity sensor subsystem, after being activated, indicates that a sample has been inserted by a user. The microprocessor can then operate the testing subsystem, and provide output data to a display driver accordingly.
