A disposable undergarment forming apparatus and methods are provided for forming disposable undergarments. The apparatus preferably includes a core former positioned to form a stream of undergarment cores. The core former includes a mat securer positioned to secure each of a plurality of undergarment mats to a sheet of a polymeric material and a first separator positioned downstream from the mat securer for separating the stream of undergarment cores into a plurality of individual cores. An elastic waistband former preferably is positioned adjacent the core former for forming elastic waistbands. A waistband securer is positioned downstream from the core former and positioned to receive the elastic waistbands from the elastic waistband former for securing the waistbands to the plurality of individual undergarment cores to thereby form a chain of a plurality of undergarments. A folder is positioned downstream from the waistband securer for folding each of the plurality of undergarments of the chain. A side connector is positioned downstream from the folder for connecting at least the side peripheries of the waistbands of the plurality of undergarments of the chain. The apparatus also preferably includes a second separator positioned downstream from the side connector for separating the plurality of undergarments of the chain into individual disposable undergarments.

We control the cure temperature within ±15° F. (8° C.) for organic resin matrix composites with a thermal diffusion apparatus which contains a liquid fluid transfer medium to convey heat from an immersed resistance heater to the repair site. Uniform heating of the repair site occurs despite differences in the underlying structure of the repair site, such as the location of underlying spars or other structural features or variations in the skin thickness, because of natural convection within the heat transfer fluid. The fluid transfer medium preferably is a solid, at ambient temperature, but melts at a relatively low, elevated temperature below the cure temperature. We achieve uniform heating that is necessary for suitable repairs to temperatures of at least about 350° F. (177° C.) and simplify monitoring of the repair site temperatures because of the uniform heating we naturally achieve.

Apparatus for applying heat to a patch on a composite structure repair site is disclosed. The apparatus includes a sealed bladder containing both a thermally conductive fluid and a heating element in thermal contact with the fluid. The heating element which comprises a flexible sheet having an electrical resistance wire uniformly placed thereon can be immersed in the fluid or otherwise in direct thermal contact therewith. Electrical power is applied to the heating element by conductors passing through the bladder surface. The heating element of disclosed structure can be attached to seal the bladder interior into two reservoirs, to permit fluid flow throughout the bladder or to form at least one outer surface of the bladder. Flexible supports can also be attached from the heating element to an interior bladder surface to maintain spacing between the heating element and the surface. To prevent diffusion of the thermally conductive fluid, a separate container of thermally conductive fluid impermeable material can be placed inside the bladder. The outer bladder may be sealed by mechanical frame apparatus which compresses the bladder surface material at a perimeter thereof.

New and improved foam cushions for packaging purposes of the type including a cushion envelope partially filled with an expandable cushioning foam material are provided. The cushion envelope includes a foam-receiving cavity and is defined by a unitary web of material folded over itself to provide a folded side. An intermittent labyrinth side seam is provided along the side opposite the folded side and transverse top and bottom seams are provided to complete formation of the cushion envelope. A cushioning foam is disposed in the foam-receiving cavity. A method for making the foam cushions and an automated apparatus for making a continuous supply of the packaging cushions are also described.

A reclosable flexible container is provided as a pouch having a front wall with an inside and an outside surface, a rear wall with an inside and an outside surface and a pouch opening. A pair of exterior closure elements are provided for mechanical interlocking with a pair of interior closure elements. A wall of the pouch is interposed between each interior and exterior closure element. The interior closure elements further have a mechanical mechanism for selective interlocking with each other so as to seal the pouch or reopen it as desired. As a result a reclosable pouch is provided without the use of heat seals or adhesives.
