Abstract: An electric vehicle including a storage compartment adapted to store a saddle riding vehicle having an engine and a generator adapted to be selectively coupled to the engine to produce electric power. The electric vehicle includes at least one electric motor, at least one rechargeable battery electrically coupled to the at least one electric motor, and at least one charging port to facilitate a charging of the at least one battery. The electric vehicle also includes a switch to start the engine of the saddle riding vehicle and a controller configured start the engine of the saddle riding vehicle to recharge the at least one battery when the at least one charging port is electrically coupled to the generator, the generator is coupled to the engine of the saddle riding vehicle, and the switch is operated to start the engine of the saddle riding vehicle.

Abstract: A two-wheeled vehicle is provided including a frame, front and rear ground-engaging members each supporting the frame, a straddle-type seat, a handlebar for steering the vehicle, at least one light device configured to operate in a hazard mode, an engine supported by the frame and operably coupled to the ground-engaging members, a tilt sensor, and a vehicle control unit in communication with the tilt sensor. The vehicle control unit is operative to detect a tilt angle of the vehicle based on output from the tilt sensor. The vehicle control unit is operative to determine a tip-over condition of the vehicle based on the detected tilt angle exceeding a threshold tilt angle. The vehicle control unit activates the hazard mode of the at least one light in response to the determination of the tip-over condition.

Abstract: A system for preventing an engine included in a work machine from restarting, after the work machine is tipped over. A sensor included in the work machine is configured to detect a tipping incident. If a tipping incident is detected, the sensor sends out a signal configured to shut down the engine and a tilt signal configured to prevent the engine from restarting. The engine is only restarted if certain steps are undertaken by an operator and a reset switch is activated.

Abstract: A controller executes a first restarting process when restarting of an engine is requested under a condition where an engine speed is less than a determination speed. In the first restarting process, cranking of the engine is performed by a motor generator in a state in which the motor generator is connected to a crankshaft through engagement of a clutch, and fuel injection and ignition are initiated in the engine when a combustion initiation condition is satisfied in this state. The controller executes a second restarting process when restarting of the engine is requested under a condition where the engine speed is greater than or equal to the determination speed. In the second restarting process, fuel injection and ignition are initiated in the engine, and the motor generator is connected to the crankshaft through engagement of the clutch after the engine has been restarted.
