Abstract:
Adhesive formulations generally including an acrylate and/or methacrylate monomer; a vinyl ester resin having a weight average molecular weight ranging from about 450 to about 3000; and a catalyst. Also disclosed is a method for forming a composite material employing the formulations.
Abstract:
An aqueous adhesive composition for wet lamination of substrate layers to form a laminated article includes from about 40 weight percent to about 65 weight percent solids dispersed in an aqueous medium, wherein the solids include a polymer having repeating units derived from a vinyl ester monomer and having a glass transition temperature of about -15.degree. C. to about +15.degree. C.; and from about 0.1 parts by weight to about 40 parts by weight of a plasticizer compound per 100 parts by weight of the polymer. A method for making a laminated article includes applying a wet layer of the aqueous laminating adhesive composition of the to a first substrate layer; covering the wet layer of adhesive composition with a second substrate layer; and drying the layer of adhesive composition to form the laminated article. A laminated article includes two substrate layers bonded together by an interposed layer of the dried adhesive composition.
Abstract:
A pulverulent adhesive composition which comprises (a) at least one polymer selected from the group consisting of vinyl ester polymers, (meth)acrylate polymers and styrene(meth)acrylate polymers, (b) at least one tackifying resin (tackifier) and, optionally, (c) one or more protective colloids, and, optionally, (d) one or more anticaking agents. The present composition is suitable for use in formulations used for the adhesive bonding of porous and/or semiporous substrates.
Abstract:
This invention covers the use of cross-linkable redispersible dispersion powders based on vinyl ester copolymers or (meth)acrylic acid ester copolymers as binders for the dry binding of fibre materials.
Abstract:

Permanently tacky pressure sensitive adhesives comprise terpolymers consisting essentially of 35-50% by weight of a vinyl ester of an alkanoic acid, 15-30% by weight ethylene and 35-50% by weight of di-2-ethylhexyl maleate or the corresponding fumarate.
Abstract:
Strongly adhering aqueous plastic dispersions based on copolymers of olefinically unsaturated compounds, which are particularly suitable as binding agents for paints and lacquers and as adhesives, and which are distinguished by their good wet adhesion are described. This is achieved by the inclusion by polymerization of from 0.2% to 7% by weight, based on the total weight of the monomers, of vinyl and/or allyl diacetylacetate having the formula:CH.sub.2 .dbd.CH--(CH.sub.2).sub.n --O--CO--CH(CO--CH.sub.3).sub.2wherein n is 0 or 1, in the production of copolymers of the invention in an aqueous emulsion.
Abstract:
THIS INVENTION RELATES TO A PROCESS FOR PREPARING A LATEX ADHESIVE WHICH IS STABLE IN THE PRESENCE OF ALCOHOLIC THINNING MATERIALS. MORE PARTICULARLY, THE INVENTION COMPRISES A PROCESS FOR POLYMERIZING A VINYL ESTER IN THE PRESENCE OF A MONOALKYL ESTER STABILIZING AGENT FOR ALCOHOLIC THINNERS THEREAFTER, ALCOHOLIC THINNERS ARE ADDED TO THE LATEX. THE INVENTION ALSO CONTEMPLATES THE LATEX ADHESIVE MADE BY THE ABOVE PROCESS.
Abstract:
An object of the present invention is to provide a photocurable resin composition that has excellent adhesion to plastic substrates and can form a composition with good compatibility. The present invention relates to a photocurable resin composition containing: an allylic polymer (A) produced by polymerization of an allylic compound represented by the formula (I) below; and a tackifier resin (B),
Abstract:
An adhesive composition comprising a core shell vinyl ester and a urethane acrylate, which is suitable to be applied to a rough or uneven surface of a substrate to render a smooth surface. The present adhesive composition is particularly suitable to coat large objects made through additive manufacturing to form molds or prototypes.
