摘要: The present disclosure relates to a method of incorporating lithium into a coating. One may supply a substrate having a coating containing aluminum ions and immersing the substrate including the coating containing aluminum ions in a water-soluble diketone including lithium for exchange where the ketone carbonyls are separated by at least one carbon atom. This may then be followed by exchanging a portion of the aluminum ions with lithium ions from the diketone solution. Such coatings may have improved chemical resistance.

摘要: The invention refers to a process for the formation of a thermal barrier coating on a substrate, comprising the steps of: a) applying a bond coat on the substrate; b) subjecting the bond coat to a low activity aluminizing process, thus obtaining, above the bond coat, a temporary intermediate diffusion layer; c) applying, on the temporary intermediate diffusion layer, aluminum powder in suspension with a solvent or aqueous base, said aluminum powder having size distribution from 15 to 150 μm; d) performing a thermal treatment in a vacuum at a pressure from 10−3 to 10−5 bars, at a temperature from 800° C. to 1050° C. and with an active phase having duration in the range of 60 minutes to 4 hours, thus obtaining above the bond coat an enriched intermediate diffusion layer; and e) applying a definitive barrier layer on said enriched intermediate diffusion layer.

摘要: The present invention relates to a composition for coating internal surfaces of an airfoil, particular high pressure temperature airfoils such as vanes and blades. The composition includes a dry composition consisting essentially of from about 2.5 wt % to about 7.0 wt % aluminum fluoride, from about 5.0 wt % to about 20 wt % of a chromium-aluminum powder, and from about 75 wt % to about 92.5 wt % Al.sub.2 O.sub.3. The dry composition is mixed with water and a cellulose compound to form a slurry which is thereafter injected into the airfoil. The coating compositions of the present invention are valuable in that they are capable of forming an oxidation and corrosion resistant coating on the internal surfaces of the airfoil simultaneously with the formation of an exterior corrosion and oxidation resistant coating. A process for simultaneously forming corrosion and oxidation resistant coatings on the interior and exterior surfaces of an airfoil is described herein.

摘要: The surface of stainless steel can be hardened by coating a silicon nitride gel and then scanning by CO.sub.2 laser to form a surface alloy layer thereon. The thickness and hardness of the surface alloy layer are both uniform. The Vicker's hardness of the layer can be as high as 1200 Hv. This method can be operated in a common atmosphere or nitride atmosphere at normal pressure, therefore it is more economic than ion nitriding or plasma nitriding.

摘要: A method of gradationally infusing a graded thickness permeable medium with a uniform concentration of a material is disclosed. A method of gradationally infusing a uniform thickness permeable medium with a gradational concentration of material is also disclosed. The method includes placing the material in a container, and inserting and removing the permeable medium in the container so that the permeable medium includes either a gradational or uniform concentration of the material therein dependent upon the thickness of the medium. The method disclosed also allows uniform thickness or graded thickness electrochromic materials to be gradationally infused with an ion source to provide a color gradient within an electrochromic device. An electrochromic device made according to this method is also disclosed.
