摘要: A water-soluble or water-dispersible copolymer comprises copolymerized units a) of at least one ethylenically unsaturated monomer with a saccharide side group and b) of at least one hydrophilic ethylenically unsaturated monomer different from (meth)acrylamide, where the weight fraction of the ethylenically unsaturated monomers with a saccharide side group is 5 to 95% by weight. The copolymers exhibit high affinity to inorganic surfaces or hydrophilic fibers, such as cotton. They serve as soil release and/or graying-inhibiting polymers in textile detergents or minimize the risk of microbial colonization of materials coated therewith.

摘要: A gelling composition and a process for using the gelling composition for oilfield applications are provided. The gelling composition comprises a water-soluble polymer, a crosslinking agent, and a liquid wherein the water-soluble polymer comprises repeat units derived from a nitrogen-containing olefinic monomer and optionally an olefinic comonomer. The gelling composition can be used in drilling fluids, workover fluids, completion fluids, permeability corrections, water or gas coning prevention, fluid loss prevention, matrix acidizing, fracture acidizing, and combinations of any two or more thereof.

摘要: Photostable and weather stable absorping copolymers have been prepared from acrylic esters such as methyl methacrylate containing 0.1 to 5% of an 2-hydroxy-allyl benzophenone, preferably the 4,4' dimethoxy derivative thereof. The pendant benzophenone chromophores protect the acrylic backbone and when photoexcited do not degrade the ester side chain, nor abstract hydrogen from the backbone.

摘要: A novel copolymer resin having excellent compatibility with rubber and plastics, stable to air, easily soluble in the hydrocarbon solvents and free of gel, said resin being obtained either (1) by copolymerizing one or more of the monomeric substances selected from the group consisting of cyclopentadiene, dicyclopentadiene and alkyl-substituted compounds thereof and one or more of the substances selected from the hydroxystyrene derivatives, or (2) by copolymerizing one or more of the monomeric substances selected from the group consisting of cyclopentadiene, dicyclopentadiene and alkyl-substituted compounds thereof, one or more of the substances selected from the codimers of cyclopentadiene and/or alkyl-substituted compounds thereof and chain conjugated diolefins having 4 to 5 carbon atoms, and one or more of the substances selected from the hydroxystyrene derivatives. There are also provided compositions comprising said resin and rubber or thermoplastic high-molecular weight substances.

摘要: There is provided a multilayer structure comprising a layer (A) containing an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer having an ethylene unit content of 1 mol % or more and less than 20 mol %, a viscosity-average polymerization degree of 200 to 5000, and a saponification degree of 80 to 99.7 mol %, wherein a block character of ethylene units is 0.90 to 0.99; and a layer (B) containing at least one resin selected from the group consisting of a polyolefin resin, a polyester resin and a polyamide resin. Such a multilayer structure has excellent oxygen-gas barrier performance. In addition, an aqueous solution containing the ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer exhibits excellent viscosity stability even after long-term storage. Therefore, even after a long period of time from preparation of the aqueous solution, it can be uniformly applied to a substrate and thus, a multilayer structure having excellent oxygen-gas barrier performance can be provided.
