摘要: A microstructure comprises a plurality of interconnected units wherein the units are formed of graphene tubes. The graphene tubes may be formed by photo-initiating the polymerization of a monomer in a pattern of units to form a polymer microlattice, removing unpolymerized monomer, coating the polymer microlattice with a metal, removing the polymer microlattice to leave a metal microlattice, depositing graphitic carbon on the metal microlattice, converting the graphitic carbon to graphene, and removing the metal microlattice. A ceramic may be deposited on the graphene and another graphene layer may be deposited on top of the ceramic to create a multi-layered sp2-bonded carbon tube.

摘要: Graphene oxide (GO) is an emerging material for energy, environmental, and many other applications which in the past has been produced using chemical processes involving high-energy consumption and hazardous chemicals. Embodiments of the present invention focus on bioelectrochemical systems (BES) having microorganism(s), an anode (11) and cathode (14) to produce GO (13) from graphite, coal, and other carbonaceous materials under ambient conditions without chemical amendments. In some embodiments, value-added organic compounds (17) and even H2 (16) can be produced.

摘要: A method of making a graphitic carbon sheet is provided, comprising providing a substrate; providing a coating composition, comprising: a liquid carrier and a MX/graphitic carbon precursor material having a formula (I); disposing the coating composition on the substrate to form a composite; optionally, baking the composite; annealing the composite under a forming gas atmosphere; whereby the composite is converted into an MX layer and a graphitic carbon layer disposed on the substrate providing a multilayer structure; wherein the MX layer is interposed between the substrate and the graphitic carbon layer in the multilayer structure; exposing the multilayer structure to an acid; and, recovering the graphitic carbon layer as the freestanding graphitic carbon sheet.

摘要: A process for forming high surface area graphene structures includes: depositing at least one metal on a surface of silicon carbide; heating the at least one metal and the silicon carbide to cause at least one of the metals to react with a portion of the silicon carbide to form silicide regions extending into an unreacted portion of the silicon carbide and graphene disposed between the silicide regions and the unreacted portion of the silicon carbide; and removing the silicide regions to provide a silicon carbide structure having a highly irregular surface and a surface layer of graphene.

摘要: A graphene nanoribbon has a chiral edge to which a dicarbimide structure is bonded. The dicarbimide structure is an electron-withdrawing group. The width and band gap of the graphene nanoribbon are controlled by a precursor molecule used for a polymerization reaction. Furthermore, n-type operation of the graphene nanoribbon is realized by the dicarbimide structure. In addition, with the graphene nanoribbon, an increase in ribbon length and suppression of a polymerization defect by the stabilization of a reaction intermediate of the precursor molecule, as well as improvement in orientation are realized by the dicarbimide structure.

摘要: A porous graphene, a graphene quantum dot and a green preparation method for the porous graphene and the graphene quantum dot. The method includes adding a starting material, graphite, into an acetic acid aqueous solution of chitosan, using chitosan as a stripping agent, obtaining the porous graphene by an ultrasonic treatment, centrifugation and precipitation, and obtaining the graphene quantum dot by dialyzing a supernatant from the centrifugation. The obtained porous graphene has fewer layers and a larger lateral dimension of sheet. The obtained graphene quantum dot has good dispersity and a uniform particle size distribution. The preparation method is simple to perform and a graphitization degree of the prepared porous graphene and graphene quantum dot is high. The obtained porous graphene can be used as a carrier for a reverse gene transfection, and the graphene quantum dot can be used for cell imaging.
