摘要: A laser processing method includes: a first step of converging laser light having a wavelength larger than 1064 nm on an object to be processed with a rear face of a silicon substrate as a laser light entrance surface and moving a first converging point of the laser light along a line to cut, and thereby forming a first modified region along the line to cut; and a second step of converging the laser light having a wavelength larger than 1064 nm on the object to be processed with the rear face as the laser light entrance surface after the first step and moving a second converging point of the laser light along the line to cut while offsetting the second converging point with respect to a position where the first converging point is aligned, and there by forming a second modified region along the line to cut.

摘要: To obtain a welded member using a steel sheet less expensive than a pure Ni sheet as a raw material and excellent in corrosion resistance. A welded member according to the present invention is made by connecting a Ni plated steel sheet having a Ni plating layer and a Fe—Ni diffusion alloy layer and another steel sheet via a welded part, wherein: a Ni concentration is 70 mass % or more and a Fe concentration is 30 mass % or less in a surface layer of each of a toe, a toe near area, and the welded part; and a thickness of the Fe—Ni diffusion alloy layer is 0.5 to 1.5 μm and a total thickness of the Ni plating layer and the Fe—Ni diffusion alloy layer is 2.7 to 14.0 μm at a non-welded part, and a total concentration of S and C in the Ni plating layer at the non-welded part is less than 20 ppm.

摘要: A method for laser welding a multiplicity of foils onto a carrier includes arranging the foils one on top of the other to provide a foil stack, folding the foil stack to provide a folded region of the foil stack that protrudes up from two side regions of the foil stack, pressing the side regions against the carrier, and pressing together the side regions toward the folded region. The method further includes welding the foils to one another and to the carrier by directing a laser beam onto the folded region and moving the laser beam along the folded region.

摘要: A method for processing cardboard includes the steps of irradiating a surface of a cardboard blank with a first laser in order to remove material from the cardboard blank according to a first pattern. The first laser is irradiated with a first laser power and with a laser beam thereof being scanned with a first scanning speed. The first laser power is greater than or equal to 0.5 kW. The first scanning speed is greater than or equal to 2000 mm/s and less than or equal to 25000 mm/s. The method also includes the step of irradiating the surface of the cardboard blank with the first laser in order to remove material from the cardboard blank according to the first pattern and is carried out while the cardboard blank is being conveyed.

摘要: Systems and methods are described for forming continuous laser filaments in transparent materials. A burst of ultrafast laser pulses is focused such that a beam waist is formed external to the material being processed without forming an external plasma channel, while a sufficient energy density is formed within an extended region within the material to support the formation of a continuous filament, without causing optical breakdown within the material. Filaments formed according to this method may exhibit lengths exceeding up to 10 mm. In some embodiments, an aberrated optical focusing element is employed to produce an external beam waist while producing distributed focusing of the incident beam within the material. Various systems are described that facilitate the formation of filament arrays within transparent substrates for cleaving/singulation and/or marking. Optical monitoring of the filaments may be employed to provide feedback to facilitate active control of the process.

摘要: Flame arrestors and methods of making flame arrestors are described herein. An example flame arrestor includes a cylindrical body. The body includes a first end and a second end opposite the first end. The first end of the body has an end surface. The body also includes a recess formed in the end surface of the first end. The recess is defined by a recessed surface extending inward from the end surface toward the second end. The body further includes a set of channels formed through the body between the first and second ends. The channels extend through the recessed surface.

摘要: A laser system includes a controller, a laser source, a laser scanner, and a laser containment apparatus. The laser containment apparatus includes a mounting structure for the laser scanner, a shroud assembly coupled to the mounting structure, and a seal interface coupled to the shroud assembly at an opposite end from the laser scanner. The shroud assembly surrounds a working volume of the laser scanner and includes a vacuum port connected to a vacuum source and a purge port that guides purge gas from a purge gas source toward the laser scanner. A distal end of the seal interface is formed of a pliable material that compresses to seal the shroud assembly to a target surface of a workpiece upon establishment of a negative pressure differential between a vacuum pressure inside the shroud assembly and ambient atmospheric pressure.

摘要: Laser cutting a metal foil by providing a polymer film as a carrier layer for the metal foil where the metal foil is ablated by the laser beam wavelength selected for laser cutting and wherein the polymer film is a polymer film that is transparent to the laser beam wavelength selected for laser cutting such that laser cutting produces metal foil cut parts in a substrate while the polymer backing remains intact for supporting the cut parts for subsequent separation of the cut parts from substrate.
