摘要: A centrifugal separator for separating residual resin from additively manufactured objects, the objects carried on a build surface of a build platform on which the objects were additively manufactured. The separator includes: an outer vessel; a rotor in the vessel, the rotor defining a center axis of rotation; a drive assembly operatively associated with the rotor; and a plurality of build platform mount assemblies operatively associated with the rotor, each mount assembly configured to receive one of the build platforms in (i) a first orientation in which the build surfaces face toward the axis of rotation, and (ii) a second orientation in which the build surfaces face away from the axis of rotation.

摘要: Provided herein is a method of recycling reactive prepolymers from additively manufactured articles or recovered coating material that comprises a crosslinked polymer formed from a single-cure resin comprising a reactive blocked prepolymer and a crosslinker, by forming and recovering a regenerated reactive prepolymer. Light-polymerizable resins, methods of making recyclable objects from such resins, and methods for sustainable manufacturing are also provided.

摘要: An ocean alkalinity enhancement (OAE) system that reduces atmospheric CO2 and mitigates ocean acidification by electrochemically processing feedstock solution (e.g., seawater or brine) to generate an alkalinity product that is then supplied to the ocean. The OAE system includes a base-generating device and a control circuit disposed within a modular system housing deployed near a salt feedstock. The base-generating device (e.g., a bipolar electrodialysis (BPED) system) generates a base substance that is then used to generate the ocean alkalinity product. The control circuit controls the base-generating device such that the alkalinity product is supplied to the ocean only when (1) sufficient low/zero-carbon electricity is available, (2) it is safe to operate the base-generating device, and (3) supplying the alkalinity product will not endanger sea life. Modified BPED systems include features that facilitate autonomous system operations including enhanced maintenance cycle operations and a reduced reliance on external fresh water sources.

摘要: Provided herein is an additive manufacturing method of making a three-dimensional object comprising polyurea, comprising: (a) dispensing a one part (1K) dual cure resin into a stereolithography apparatus, the resin comprising or consisting essentially of a photoinitiator, a reactive blocked polyisocyanate, and optionally a polyepoxide, the reactive blocked polyisocyanate comprising the reaction product of a polyisocyanate and an amine or hydroxyl (meth)acrylate or (meth)acrylamide monomer blocking agent; (b) additively manufacturing from said resin an intermediate object comprising the light polymerization product of said reactive blocked polyisocyanate; (c) optionally cleaning said intermediate object; and (d) reacting said polymerization product in said intermediate with water to generate polyamine in situ that sequentially reacts with the remainder of the polymerization product to form urea linkages and hereby produce a three-dimensional object comprising polyurea. One part (1K) dual cure resins useful for the method are also provided.

摘要: A method of making an object by additive manufacturing includes: (a) providing an additive manufacturing apparatus including a light source; (b) providing a carrier platform having a substantially planar object adhesion surface, the adhesion surface having a plurality of elongate wash channels formed therein; (c) producing the object on the carrier platform adhesion surface with the additive manufacturing apparatus from a light polymerizable resin, the object having at least one internal cavity formed therein; then (d) washing the object on the carrier platform with a wash liquid under conditions in which the wash liquid reaches the at least one internal cavity through the wash channels; then (e) optionally, at least partially drying the object on the carrier platform by separating the same from the wash liquid, and then agitating the object on the carrier platform to drain excess wash liquid from the object; (f) optionally, further curing the object.
