摘要: A method for forming a coating film is here disclosed which comprises the steps of coating a member with a coating material containing a pigment for a thermosetting base coat, overcoating the coated member with a coating material for a thermosetting clear coat in a wet-on-wet coating manner, and then thermosetting the uncured coating films simultaneously;a binder component in the coating material for the base coat comprising50 to 90% by weight of an acrylic copolymer having a hydroxyl value of from 40 to 80 mg KOH/g and an acid value of from 0.5 to 30 mg KOH/g and a glass transition temperature of from -40.degree. to 20.degree. C. which is obtained by copolymerizing 10 to 40% by weight of a hydroxyl group-containing (meth)acrylic ester, 0.2 to 10% by weight of a carboxyl group-containing vinyl monomer, 30 to 89.8% by weight of a (meth)acrylic ester and 0 to 30% by weight of another vinyl monomer, and10 to 50% by weight of a curing agent;a binder component in the coating material for the clear coat comprisingan acrylic copolymer having a hydroxyl value of from 50 to 180 mg KOH/g, an acid value of from 2 to 40 mg KOH/g and a glass transition temperature of from -40.degree. to 20.degree. C. which is obtained by copolymerizing5 to 60% by weight of a fluorine-containing (meth)-acrylic ester, 10 to 60% by weight of a hydroxyl group-containing (meth)acrylic ester, 0.2 to 10% by weight of a vinyl monomer containing an acidic group, 15 to 70% by weight of a (meth)acrylic ester and 5 to 50% by weight of another vinyl monomer, anda polyisocyanate compound;a ratio X/Y of an equivalent (X) of the OH group present in the acrylic copolymer to an equivalent (Y) of the NCO group in the polyisocyanate compound being in the range of from 1/0.5 to 1/1.5.

摘要: The invention is generally related to a method for producing, in a consistent manner, contact lenses each having an intact durable coating thereon, wherein the coating is a hydrogel coating formed by covalently attached a hydrophilic polymeric material having azetidinium groups onto a base coating of a polyanionic polymer on a contact lens at a relatively low temperature (e.g., from about 40° C. to about 60° C.). The coating temperature for forming a durable hydrogel coating on top of the base coating of a contact lens can be significantly lowered by raising, in situ, the pH (to about 9.5 or higher) of a reactive coating solution which contains the hydrophilic polymeric material having azetidinium groups.

摘要: Disclosed is a method for treating a grained material. A nonlimiting example of the method includes the operations of providing a workpiece having grains, exasperating a surface of the workpiece to open the grains, applying at least one coat of a base paint to the exasperated surface, applying at least one layer of clear coat on the base paint, applying at least one of a glaze and a paint on the clear coat, and surface treating to reveal grains of the workpiece. Disclosed also are items of furniture and sheet materials treated by the aforementioned process.

A method for coating a substrate with epilame, including: preparing an aqueous epilamization bath by solubilising such an epilamization agent, placing the substrate in contact with the epilamization agent in the epilamization bath, separating the hydrophilic moiety from the epilamization agent by cleavage, rinsing the substrate to eliminate the hydrophilic residues from the hydrophilic moiety and drying.
