Abstract:
A steel cord for reinforcement of rubber articles, whose cord strength is enhanced by preventing occurrence of preceding break of the outermost layer filaments in the steel cord having a multi-twisted structure, and a pneumatic tire using it as a reinforcing material are provided. In a steel cord for reinforcement of rubber articles having a multi-twisted structure in which a plurality of strands are twisted together, which strands have a layered twisted structure in which a plurality of steel filaments are twisted together, dc/ds, which represents the ratio between dc, the diameter of outermost layer sheath filaments constituting the outermost layer sheath of a core strand, and ds, the diameter of outermost layer sheath filaments constituting the outermost layer sheath of sheath strands, is 1.05 to 1.25.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to methods of making nanofiber yarns. In some embodiments, the nanotube yarns comprise carbon nanotubes. Particularly, such carbon nanotube yarns of the present invention provide unique properties and property combinations such as extreme toughness, resistance to failure at knots, high electrical and thermal conductivities, high absorption of energy that occurs reversibly, up to 13% strain-to-failure compared with the few percent strain-to-failure of other fibers with similar toughness, very high resistance to creep, retention of strength even when heated in air at 450° C. for one hour, and very high radiation and UV resistance, even when irradiated in air.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for producing a turf yarn for artificial turf. According to the invention, several monofilaments or ribbons are produced from one respective polymer material in two parallel extrusion processes, the turf yarn being formed by combining several monofilaments or ribbons obtained in the first extrusion process with several monofilaments or ribbons obtained in the second extrusion process. In order to improve especially the elasticity of an artificial turf carpet made from said turf yarn, the monofilaments or ribbons obtained in one of the extrusion processes are crimped before being combined, the crimped monofilaments or ribbons and the flat monofilaments or ribbons being produced in parallel next to each other and being joined in a winding station by means of a tie thread.
Abstract:
A cord for reinforcing rubber articles according to the present invention is formed by a thread with ply-twisted cellulose fiber twisted with a thread of ply-twisted nylon fiber. The ply twist number of the nylon fiber is less than the ply twist number of the cellulose fiber. A pneumatic tire according to the present invention uses the cord for reinforcing rubber articles according to the present invention in a ply cord of the carcass.
Abstract:
A yarn or thread may include a plurality of substantially aligned filaments, with at least ninety-five percent of a material of the filaments being a thermoplastic polymer material. Various woven textiles and knitted textiles may be formed from the yarn or thread. The woven textiles or knitted textiles may be thermal bonded to other elements to form seams. A strand that is at least partially formed from a thermoplastic polymer material may extend through the seam, and the strand may be thermal bonded at the seam. The woven textiles or knitted textiles may be shaped or molded, incorporated into products, and recycled to form other products.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to cables made of twisted conductor pairs. More specifically, the present invention relates to twisted pair communication cables for high-speed data communications applications. A twisted pair including at least two conductors extends along a generally longitudinal axis, with an insulation surrounding each of the conductors. The conductors are twisted generally longitudinally along the axis. A cable includes at least two twisted pairs and a filler. At least two of the cables are positioned along generally parallel axes for at least a predefined distance. The cables are configured to efficiently and accurately propagate high-speed data signals by, among other functions, limiting at least a subset of the following: impedance deviations, signal attenuation, and alien crosstalk along the predefined distance.
Abstract:
In an apparatus for the production of a non-woven fabric, a plurality of filaments (11) are extruded by a spinneret (2) into at least two groups spaced from each other to define an area of the cooling chamber without filaments and structures; the filaments are cooled by an air flow (Y) conveyed into the cooling chamber directed towards an intermediate area between said two groups of filaments, said area being located below an area of the spinneret without extrusion holes.
Abstract:
A cable is disclosed that can be used to reinforce a crown protection ply and/or a stiffener (9) in tires for heavy industrial vehicles. Also disclosed are composite fabrics that can be used as crown protection plies and/or as stiffeners (9) in such tires, and the tires themselves. The cable comprises three strands twisted together in helix of pitch p2, each consisting of two metallic wires twisted together in helix of pitch p1, these wires having diameters (d1, d2), (d1′, d2′), (d1″, d2″) for the strands, respectively, such that the cable satisfies the following conditions: (i)0.25
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for preparing a poly(trimethylene terephthalate) carpet, in which the poly(trimethylene terephthalate) carpet is prepared from poly(trimethylene terephthalate) yarns through the post-processes comprising cabling, heat setting, tufting, dyeing, becking, and shearing. The poly(trimethylene terephthalate) yarns have advantages of improved quality, functionality, and workability by optimizing operating conditions of the steps.
