    摘要: An internal combustion engine comprising main and subsidiary combustion chambers interconnected by a connecting passage. A subsidiary chamber component providing therein the subsidiary combustion chamber is press-fitted into a recess formed in the cylinder head. The cylinder head and the component have a hole extending through their walls. A sleeve is fitted into the hole so as to prevent dislodging of the sleeve from the recess. A spark plug is inserted into the sleeve.

    摘要: An object of the present invention is to improve the easiness of steadily maintaining the magnitude of treading on a foot-operated operating element while mitigating a feeling of treading on a wall at the time of start of treading on the operating element. A pedal-operated operation device includes a pedal arm, a support housing, a spring for urging the pedal arm in a direction of return, a first shim and a second shim. A frictional engagement portion of the second shim is higher in maximum static friction force than a frictional engagement portion of the first shim. The second shim has a region in which the elastic modulus of the second elastic deformation portion is lower than that of the first shim, in terms of elastic deformation at the time when the pedal arm moves relative to the support housing.

    摘要: A cooling system for an internal combustion engine with an intercooler has a pump with a single drive shaft which drives two sets of vanes. One set of vanes circulates coolant through a circuit including the engine block, and the other circulates fluid through a circuit including the intercooler. Around the rotary impeller of the pump is a clearance to allow communication between the circuits. Thus, the intercooler can function as an intake air heater when cold-starting the engine, idling without supercharging, or operating the engine in the region of low engine rpm's.
