Abstract:
Embodiments of interference coordination for aerial vehicle user equipment (UE) are described. In some embodiments, a base station (BS) is configured to select a subset of time-frequency resources dedicated for use in serving aerial vehicle UEs and communicate with the aerial vehicle UEs via the subset of time-frequency resources. In some embodiments, the BS may transmit signaling to a neighbor BS that indicates the BS has dedicated the subset of time-frequency resources for serving aerial vehicle UEs and the subset of time-frequency resources to be used. The BS may receive an indication from the neighbor BS that a neighbor BS is to dedicate the subset of time-frequency resources to serve aerial vehicle UE, and based on the indication, the BS may reduce transmission activities in the subset of time-frequency resources, including refraining from transmitting or reducing an amount of information or power level of signaling to the aerial vehicle UEs.
Abstract:
Systems and technologies described herein provide functionality for a cellular base station to dynamically indicate a reception (Rx) beam to be used by a user equipment (UE). The Rx beam can be indicated explicitly or implicitly. The UE can, for example, use the Rx beam for Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH) reception, Channel State Information Reference Signal (CSI-RS) measurements, and/or Channel State Information (CSI) calculation at the UE. Systems and technologies described herein are generally useful for systems that use multiple transmission (Tx) beams and/or that support Coordinated Multipoint (CoMP) transmission technology.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatuses for communicating in a wireless network include provision of interfering signal characteristics information to a user equipment to facilitate suppression of an interfering signal present in a downlink signal being received at the user equipment.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and storage media for providing multi-cell, multi-point single user (SU) multiple input and multiple output (MIMO) operations are described. In embodiments, an apparatus may receive and process a first set of one or more independent data streams received in a downlink channel from a first transmission point. The apparatus may receive and process a second set of one or more independent data streams received in a downlink channel from a second transmission point. The apparatus may process control information received from the first transmission point or the second transmission point. The control information may include an indication of a quasi co-location assumption to be used for estimating channel characteristics for reception of the first set of one or more independent data streams or the second set of one or more independent data streams. Other embodiments may be described and/or claimed.
Abstract:
Methods, apparatuses, and systems are described related to interference averaging to generate feedback information and interference averaging to demodulate receives signals. In embodiments, an evolved Node B (eNB) may transmit interference averaging information to a user equipment (UE) including a time domain averaging indicator indicating a time domain averaging window to be used by the UE for averaging interference measurements in a time domain or a frequency domain averaging indicator to indicate a frequency domain averaging window to be used by the UE for averaging interference measurements in a frequency domain. Additionally, or alternatively, the eNB may transmit an interference resource group (IRG) indicator to the UE to indicate an IRG over which the UE is to perform interference averaging to facilitate demodulation of signals received by the UE from the eNB.
Abstract:
A User Equipment and an eNodeB system are configured for performing interference mitigation in the UE. Input circuitry in the wireless communication device receives an OFDM downlink channel signal associated with a serving cell and receives downlink control information for an interfering cell. The downlink control information is used by the UE to perform channel estimation for the interfering cell. An interference mitigation module is provided for calculating an interference-mitigated version of the received channel signal using estimated channel transfer functions for both the serving cell and the interfering cell, power control parameters and using set of modulation constellation points corresponding to the OFDM downlink channel. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.
Abstract:
Embodiments for providing fast modulation and coding scheme adaptation for LTE regardless of transmission using single-user multiple-input and multiple-output (SU-MIMO) or multiple-user multiple-input and multiple-output are generally described herein. In some embodiments, channel state information reference signals are sent to user equipment by a node. First channel quality indication feedback based on the channel state information reference signals is received from the user equipment. Physical downlink shared channel data and demodulation reference signals are transmitted using a first modulation and coding scheme based on the first channel quality indication feedback. Second channel quality indication feedback based on measurements performed by the user equipment on the demodulation reference signals is received by a node. Physical downlink shared channel data is transmitted using a second modulation and coding scheme based on the second channel quality indication feedback.

Abstract:
In providing feedback to an eNB in an LTE network for downlink scheduling and link adaptation, a UE issues a channel state information (CSI) report that includes a channel quality index (CQI). The reported CQI should include all UE receiver processing capabilities, including NAICS (network assisted interference cancellation and suppression) capability to cancel and suppress interference. Described are measures that may be taken to provide more accurate reporting of CSI by a terminal with NAICS capability.
