Abstract: A battery includes a plurality of unit batteries arranged in a stacking direction, each unit battery including a battery element portion and at least one connection portion extending from a side of the battery element portion. A plurality of the connection portions extend from a first side of the unit batteries, and a distance in the stacking direction between at least two of said connection portions decreases as said connection portions extend away from the sides of the respective battery element portions.

Abstract: A rechargeable battery and a manufacturing method of the same are provided, which can aid in preventing an electric short from occurring between electrode plates by forming a cutting portion of each on the electrode plates in the shape of a curved surface or a bead having a uniform thickness and/or a diameter sufficient to prevent or substantially prevent the cutting portion from piercing a separator separating the electrode plates from each other. In a present embodiment, the electrode assembly includes an electrode plate having a current collector plate, a coating portion having an electrically active material coated on the current collector plate, a non-coating portion formed at an edge of the current collector plate and not coated with the electrically active material, a cutting portion inwardly formed from the non-coating portion, and a curved portion formed along the cutting portion in a thickness direction of the non-coating portion.

Abstract: A thin film battery package includes: a case having an open top side and defining a predetermined space therein, wherein the case has one side at which first and second electrodes formed of a metal material are exposed and electrically connected to the outside; a battery block on which a plurality of unit batteries are stacked so that the plurality of unit batteries is electrically connected between a first terminal and a second terminal, wherein the battery block is seated within the case so that the first and second terminals of the unit battery disposed at one end thereof are electrically connected to the first and second electrodes; and a cover sealed and coupled to the top surface of the case.

Abstract: A battery manufacturing method has a first depressurization step of depressurizing the inside of a liquid injecting chamber, an injection step of injecting, in the inside of the liquid injecting chamber, a liquid electrolyte into the battery through an opening portion formed at the top end of an outer case body of the battery, a second depressurization step of depressurizing the inside of a sealing chamber and a sealing step of sealing the opening portion in the inside of the sealing chamber. Vacuum attainment time until the pressure of the inside of the liquid injecting chamber becomes at a predetermined vacuum degree is measured in the first depressurization step, and if this vacuum attainment time exceeds a first threshold, a depressurization rate is reduced and a depressurization time is extended.

Abstract: Provided is a secondary battery suitable for a portable information terminal or a wearable device, or an electronic device having a novel structure with a variety of forms and a secondary battery that fits the form of the electronic device. The secondary battery is sealed using a film having projections that can reduce stress on the film caused when external force is applied. The film has a pattern of projections formed by pressing (e.g., embossing). A top portion of each of the projections has a region thicker than a bottom portion of each of the projections. The thickness of the top portion of each of the projections is 1.5 or more times, preferably 2 or more times, as large as that of the bottom portion of each of the projections, and is a thickness such that each of the projections has a convex space.

Abstract: An electricity storage device includes an electrode assembly having primary electrodes and secondary electrodes, a case having a wall with an inlet, and an insulator. The electrode assembly has a facing surface facing the wall of the case. The primary electrodes have primary tabs protruding from one edge. The second electrodes have secondary tabs. The group of primary tabs and the group of secondary tabs each have a first side and a second side on the opposite sides. In each of the group of primary tabs and the group of secondary tabs, the first side faces the facing surface, and the second side is bent to face the wall of the case. The inlet is located at a position sandwiched regions of the wall onto which the primary tab group and the secondary tab group are projected when the wall is viewed from a direction perpendicular to the facing surface.
