Abstract:
A disposable cassette for mixing an intravenous drug in a vial to a patient includes a liquid inlet for connection to a liquid supply, a first vial spike, a second vial spike and a chamber. The chamber, the first and second vial spikes, and the liquid inlet are in fluid communication with each other. A valve mechanism may be actuated to control flow between the chamber, the vial receptacles and the liquid inlet.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are provided to quantify psychological and physiological components to measure acute stress in humans, in which a stimulus can be applied to the test subject's environment during the test. The method involves multiple stress/relaxation intervals while physiological measurements are taken and “measured,” and involves questionnaires that are answered after each of the intervals to “measure” the test subject's psychological state. A computerized testing apparatus acquires the physiological measurements, and also is used by the test subject in answering the questionnaires. The “stimulus” can be a fragrance, flavor, product, or task, and a “blank stimulus” is normally used during one of the stress intervals.
Abstract:
All digital reference frequency locking. An all digital approach is provided for operation within one or more CMs within a cable modem communication system to lock the upstream of the one or more CMs to the downstream symbol clock provided from a CMTS. The locking of the CM's upstream may be performed using one of at least three different functions: (1) Locking the upstream symbol clock phase to the downstream symbol clock phase, (2) Locking the downstream symbol clock phase to the headend reference clock phase (typically 10.24 MHz or integer multiple thereof), and (3) Locking the upstream carrier frequency to the downstream symbol clock frequency. The all-digital techniques for supporting all digital reference frequency locking functionality provide high performance to support S-CDMA and other synchronous modulation techniques.
Abstract:
A display system for a handheld computing device is disclosed. The display system includes a processing unit having a first communication port, and a visual display unit separable from the processing unit. The visual display unit further includes a visual display, and a second communication port. The display unit can be expanded from an initial or storage state to present a larger visual display size. Further, the first communication port providing communication with the second communication port.
Abstract:
A structure including a substrate, a copper bump formed over the substrate, and a barrier layer comprising an alloy of at least one of iron and nickel, formed over the copper bump, and methods to make such a structure.
Abstract:
Provided are a method, system, and program for managing data in storage units. Storage pool information indicates an assignment of a plurality of storage units to a plurality of storage pools, wherein each pool is assigned zero or more storage units, wherein data associated with one storage pool is stored in a storage unit assigned to the storage pool, wherein the storage pool information for each pool indicates a threshold and target storage pool, and wherein the target storage pool is capable of being different from the storage pool. One storage unit associated with a source storage pool is selected and a determination is made of the threshold from the storage pool information for the source storage pool. A determination is made of whether the selected storage unit satisfies the determined threshold and if the selected storage unit satisfies the determined threshold, then a target storage unit in the target storage pool is selected if the storage pool information for the source storage pool indicates a target storage pool different from the source storage pool. Data from the selected storage unit is copied to the selected target storage unit.
Abstract:
A custom image processing system and method automatically verifies the validity of custom images for manufacture of information handling systems by electronically analyzing the custom image to determine its base hardware configuration, to confirm its proper configuration, and to confirm its compatibility with ordered information handling systems. Upon verification of the custom image, an automatically generated production image and customization scripts are provided to a burn rack to manufacture the information handling systems with the custom image and a desired customization level.
Abstract:
Arcuate seal layers conforming with one another are disposed between inner retainer segments and inner rails of nozzle segments of a gas turbine. The layers are secured to the aft axial face of the segments and project radially outwardly to seal against the forward axial faces of the rails. The rear axial faces of the rails have chordal seals for sealing against the forward axial faces of the support rings. The seal layers have radial cuts misaligned with one another in an axial direction to preclude leakage flows through gaps formed by the cuts. Arcuate spacers are staggered circumferentially with the arcuate retainer segments whereby an intermediate pressure plenum is formed between the finger seals and chordal seals.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a system, method, and program for transferring data. Whether data is being transferred to physical volumes in peak mode is identified. If the data is being transferred in peak mode, whether a large chain of data is available for transfer to physical volumes is determined. If the large chain of data is not available, whether a small chain of data is available for transfer to physical volumes is determined. If the small chain of data is available, the small chain of data is transferred to physical volumes. Additionally, if one or more files that have ages greater than a steady state age threshold are available, the one or more files are transferred to the one or more physical volumes. If one or more files that have ages greater than a peak age threshold are available, the one or more files are transferred to the one or more physical volumes.
Abstract:
Apparatus and methods of fabricating an under bump metallization structure including an adhesion layer abutting a conductive pad, a molybdenum-containing barrier layer abutting the adhesion layer, a wetting layer abutting the molybdenum-containing barrier layer, and high tin content solder material abutting the wetting layer. The wetting layer may be substantially subsumed in the high content solder forming an intermetallic compound layer. The molybdenum-containing barrier layer prevents the movement of tin in the high tin content solder material from migrating to dielectric layers abutting the conductive pad and potentially causing delamination and/or attacking any underlying structures, particularly copper structures, which may be present.
