Abstract: A device for measuring differences in conductivity that allows early detection of infectious/inflammatory periodental and/or apical diseases or in joint and/or muscle regions, before they can even be detected radiologically. The device has an electrical emitter in millivolts, with a given negative-peak square wave and a given frequency, both defined by a pulse width and interval between pulses, which, by means of two electrodes, one stationary and one movable, is able to produce a mild tingling sensation on the patient's skin immediately over the teeth apices or joint and/or muscle regions as well as dermatological, glandular and integumentary areas affected by inflammation and/or infection and display the intensity of the condition affecting the tissue to the professional on an illuminated scale display.

Abstract: Transducer-based systems and methods may be configured to display a graphical representation of a transducer-based device, the graphical representation including graphical elements corresponding to transducers of the transducer-based device, and also including between graphical elements respectively associated with a set of the transducers and respectively associated with a region of space between the transducers of the transducer-based device. Selection of graphical elements and/or between graphical elements can cause activation of the set of transducers associated with the selected elements. Transducer activation characteristics, such as initiation time, activation duration, activation sequence, and energy delivery characteristics, can vary based on numerous factors. Visual characteristics of graphical elements and between graphical elements can change based on an activation-status of the corresponding transducers. Activation requests for a set of transducers can be denied if it is determined that a transducer in the set of transducers is unacceptable for activation.

Abstract: Disclosed are devices, systems, and methods for determining the dipole densities on heart walls. In particular, a triangularization of the heart wall is performed in which the dipole density of each of multiple regions correlate to the potential measured at various located within the associated chamber of the heart. To create a database of dipole densities, mapping information recorded by multiple electrodes located on one or more catheters and anatomical information is used. In addition, skin electrodes may be implemented. Additionally, one or more ultrasound elements are provided, such as on a clamp assembly or integral to a mapping electrode, to produce real time images of device components and surrounding structures.

Abstract: Systems and related methods for identifying and/or ablating targeted nerves are provided. A probe with stimulating electrodes and/or ablation members are provided. The probe may be inserted into a nasal cavity and current may be introduced through the electrodes to stimulate a targeted area. The response to stimulation may be used to identify the targeted nerve. Once identified, the ablation member may ablate the targeted nerve.

Abstract: In various embodiments, methods and systems, of an ionic varistor system is provided. The ionic varistor system includes an electrolyte-membrane assembly having a liquid electrolyte that is enclosed in a solid electrolyte membrane. The ionic varistor system further includes conductive contacts operably coupled to the electrolyte-membrane assembly. The electrolytic-membrane assembly is operably coupled to an electrical potential surface. As the ionic concentration in the electrical potential surface is increased or decreased, some ions diffuse through the solid electrolyte membrane, causing the ions to mix with the liquid electrolyte to achieve an electrostatic equilibrium state that is thermally and mechanically stable. The liquid electrolyte and the diffused ions create an encapsulated ion channel in the electrolyte-membrane assembly. The electrical conductivity of the encapsulated ion channel increases as the ion concentration increases such that the complete electrolyte-membrane assembly produces electrical resistance. The ion concentration is measured as indicator of electrical potential of the electrical potential surface.

Abstract: According to the teachings of the present invention there is provided an elastic smart garment. The garment includes an elastic tubular form having variable elasticity and at least one conductive textile electrode, for sensing electrical vital signals, such as a clinical level ECG signal. The garment further includes at least one elastic and loose conductive stripe, having a first end and a second end. The first end of the at least one conductive stripe is securely attached to a respective conductive textile electrode, and the second end of the at least one conductive stripe is operatively connected with a processor. The elasticity and looseness of the at least one conductive stripe is configured to prevent a pulling force from being applied to the respective conductive textile electrode, when the garment is stretched. When a conductive stripe is stretched by up to 15%, its resistance increases by less than 25%.

Abstract: A catheter has a distal assembly with at least one loop, if not two, with ring electrodes. The distal assembly has an elongated support member covered by an extruded form having two lumens, one sized for nonslip tight fit with the support member. A single continuous puller wire for bidirectional deflection is pre-bent into two long portions and a U-shape bend therebetween. The U-shape bend is anchored at a distal end of a deflectable section which is reinforced by at least one washer having at least two holes, each hole axially aligned with a respective lumen in the deflectable section. Each hole is centered with a lumen so that each puller wire portion therethrough is straight and subjected to tensile force only. A proximal end of the support member is flattened and serrated to provide a better bonding to the distal end of the deflectable section.

Abstract: A mobile device includes a connector, an audio generator, a biological signal processor, a switch element, and a controller. The switch element has a first terminal and a second terminal. The first terminal of the switch element is coupled to the connector, and the second terminal of the switch element is selectively coupled to either the audio generator or the biological signal processor according to a control signal. The controller is coupled to the audio generator and the biological signal processor, and is configured to generate the control signal.
