Abstract: In one aspect, an example method to be performed by a vehicle-based media system includes (a) receiving audio content; (b) causing one or more speakers to output the received audio content; (c) using a microphone of the vehicle-based media system to capture the output audio content; (d) identifying reference audio content that has at least a threshold extent of similarity with the captured audio content; (e) identifying a geographic location associated with the identified reference audio content; and (f) based at least on the identified geographic location associated with the identified reference audio content, outputting, via the user interface of the vehicle-based media system, a prompt to navigate to the identified geographic location.

Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided to define a strand upstream of a direction based traffic (DBT) link. In a method, a strand is defined upstream of a DBT link. The method includes extending the strand so as to include one or more links upstream of the DBT link. The strand is extended by determining whether a link is to be added to the strand based upon evaluation of a termination criteria. The termination criteria is at least partially based upon a relationship of a function class of the link to the function class of one or more other links. In an instance in which the termination criteria is satisfied, the method ceases further extension of the strand.

In a first step, a predictive quality of service for a communication between the vehicle and a control center for a route driven in a tele-operated driving session is analyzed (10). Bases on this analysis, a section of the route for which an indirect control shall be used is determined (11). Furthermore, control data to be used by the vehicle in the determined section of the route are determined (12). At least the control data are then sent (13) to the vehicle before or after initiating a tele-operated driving session with direct control of the vehicle.

Abstract: In a communications system for communication between a vehicle guided along a predefined movement path and a stationary station using a slotted waveguide which extends parallel to the movement path of the vehicle and into which at least one antenna connected to a transceiver unit of the stationary station and at least one antenna of the vehicle project, wherein the antenna of the vehicle is moved in the longitudinal direction of the slotted waveguide with a movement of the vehicle, a switching device is arranged between the antenna of the vehicle and a transceiver unit of the vehicle, by means of which the antenna can be selectively connected to the transceiver unit of the vehicle either directly or via at least one interconnected attenuation element. The switching device can be actuated by the control device of the vehicle according to the power of a received signal.

Some embodiments include a programmable remote transmitter, designed, and programmed to perform single or multiple operations, optionally incorporated into a custom-made base that attaches to a smart phone case or other mobile devices. Abstract: An information providing method is performed in an information providing system. The information providing method includes: acquiring pieces of speed information of a vehicle in association with identification information of an in-vehicle device from the in-vehicle device via roadside antennas, each of the pieces of speed information having been stored in the in-vehicle device each time the vehicle moves a prescribed distance before the vehicle passes by the roadside antennas; and causing an information display device to display evaluation information in association with the identification information, the evaluation information indicating a frequency of occurrence of sudden acceleration or deceleration events of the vehicle obtained from a proportion of differences between calculation values outside a threshold range, the calculation values being calculated on the basis of the pieces of speed information in a prescribed period corresponding to the pieces of speed information stored in the in-vehicle device.

Abstract: Methods and systems for monitoring use and determining risks associated with operation of a vehicle having one or more autonomous operation features are provided. According to certain aspects, operating data may be recorded during operation of the vehicle. This may include information regarding the vehicle, the vehicle environment, use of the autonomous operation features, and/or control decisions made by the features. The control decisions may include actions the feature would have taken to control the vehicle, but which were not taken because a vehicle operator was controlling the relevant aspect of vehicle operation at the time. The operating data may be recorded in a log, which may then be used to determine risk levels associated with vehicle operation based upon risk levels associated with the autonomous operation features. The risk levels may further be used to adjust an insurance policy associated with the vehicle.
