A method and apparatus for forwarding detected environmental conditions are provided herein. During operation, sensors will continuously sample an environment surrounding a public-safety officer. The sensors are preferably body-worn sensors, but could be vehicle or incident area sensors as well. The sensors continuously monitor and report any detected condition to a hub (which could be body-worn) as a local status alert message. Once the hub receives a detected condition within a local status alert, the hub will make a determination if a dispatch center needs to be notified of the detected condition. The notification of the condition is transmitted to the dispatch center as a global status alert, which may simply comprise a forwarded local status alert.

In one example, a system includes an infant monitoring device and a monitoring hub. The infant monitoring device includes sensors that gather measurement data associated with the infant when the infant is presented with a first module of learning content. The monitoring hub receives the measurement data and analyzes the measurement data in relation to a development model obtained from a remote platform to determine whether the first module of learning content was appropriate for the infant. A platform processor is configured to remove personally identifiable information associated with the observations received in order to generate infant de-identified observations and analyze the observations received from the plurality of infant monitoring systems in order to generate a dynamic model reflecting infant trends relating to the observation for infants of different ages. The dynamic model is viewable by users associated with infant monitoring systems. The platform interface may be further configured to send the dynamic model to a first infant monitoring system.
