Abstract: An adjustable air bladder apparatus is provided. The apparatus includes an outer enclosure, a first interior section within the outer enclosure that contains a plurality of air bladders, a second interior section within the outer enclosure that contains a support layer, and an air pump pneumatically coupled to the plurality of air bladders, where the air pump is configured to selectively supply pressurized air to the air bladders independently through a pneumatic coupling. The pneumatic coupling includes one or more supply valves, outlet valves, and pressure sensors coupled to each air bladder or to one or more groupings of air bladders. A control device is provided for monitoring the pressure within the air bladders and for controlling an amount of air provided to or released from the bladders or groupings of bladders. A method of providing rolling massage with the apparatus is also disclosed.

Abstract: Systems and methods of processing raw electrocardiogram (ECG) waveform data of a patient into estimated real-time ECG waveform data. The method includes sensing at least one physical non-cardiac influence on the raw ECG waveform data, constructing a time domain computer model of the at least one physical, non-cardiac influence on the raw ECG waveform data, and adaptively filtering the raw ECG waveform data in the time domain using the constructed time domain computer model of the at least one physical non-cardiac influence on the raw ECG waveform data to form the estimated real-time ECG waveform data. The system can include an ECG device for collecting raw ECG waveform data, at least two ECG electrodes positioned on the patient and electrically coupled to the ECG device, and a processor coupled to the ECG device and configured to compute a time domain model of an artifact created by chest compressions.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present concept are directed to medical devices for use by a rescuer who is caring for a patient and includes a bottom device for use with a top device to measure the depth of Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) chest compressions delivered to the chest of a patient. The top device is intended for placement on the chest of the patient and has a top mechanism that is moveable up and down as the chest compressions are delivered to the patient. The bottom device includes a generally elongate member having a handle at one end and a bottom mechanism near the opposite end. The elongate member is structured to be placed under the patient during delivery of CPR. The top mechanism and the bottom mechanism cooperate to generate a value for a net depth of the compressions of the patient chest with reference to each other.
