摘要： The coefficient of friction of aluminum can surfaces after alkaline cleaning and drying can be substantially reduced by adding to the alkaline cleaner a mobility enhancing additive, preferably a surface active quaternary ammonium salt with hydroxyethyl substituents on the quaternary nitrogen atoms. A can surface suitable for automatic conveying and high quality lacquer or printing ink adhesion can thereby be obtained, if desired without including any substantial fluoride content in any treatment stage.

摘要： A lubricating composition for use in hot rolling comprises from about 20% to about 70% by weight, based on the total weight of the composition, of an overbased metal sulfonate, e.g., overbased calcium sulfonate, having a base number of at least about 40 mg-KOH/g and preferably at least 200 mg-KOH/g. The lubricating composition can be applied to at least one pair of work rolls in a rolling mill during hot rolling of a steel. It may also be applied to the steel itself immediately before hot rolling. The lubricating composition is effective for preventing galling and reducing roll wear without causing slippage of the steel and it is particularly suitable for use in hot rolling of carbon steel under severe conditions or of stainless steel including high-Cr stainless steel.

摘要： In the cold drawing of steel tubing, an excellent lubrication which permits drawing the tubing while retaining its original metallic luster can be achieved by first contacting the surfaces of the tubing, both exterior and interior, with a colloidal titanium containing aqueous composition, drying the tubing, and then applying to the surface of the tubing a liquid lubricating composition comprising (i) from 40 to 95% of a first component selected from the group consisting of olefin/oil or olefin/fat compounds which contain from 23 to 30% of sulfur and olefin/higher ester compounds which contain from 23 to 30% sulfur, including mixtures of two or more chemical species meeting this description; and (ii) from 5 to 50% of a second component selected from the group consisting of oil soluble polymer compounds, fats and oils, synthetic oils, mineral oils, higher fatty acids, and the amine salts of higher fatty acids.

摘要： This invention relates to a two-cycle engine lubricant composition, comprising (A) at least one dispersant, (B) at least one reaction product of a fatty acid and a polyamine, and (C) at least about 25% by weight of the composition of at least one varnish dissolver selected from (a) keto-alcohols, (b) carboxylic esters having up to a total of 24 carbon atoms and (c) alkoxy alcohols, and (D) at least about 15% by weight of the composition of at least one fluidizing oil, and a method, comprising the steps of introducing into a two-cycle internal combustion engine a fuel-lubricant mixture comprising a major amount of a fuel and a minor amount sufficient to increase compression or release stuck piston rings, of the two-cycle engine lubricant composition.

摘要： A synthetic lubricating oil comprising as a base oil at least one kind of a carbonic acid ester selected from the group consisting of:[I] a carbonic acid ester represented by the general formula (1) ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are each an alkyl or dihydric alcohol residue, R.sup.3 is an alkylene, and a is 0-30,[II] a carbonic acid ester represented by the general formula (2) ##STR2## wherein X.sup.1 is --H or ##STR3## R.sup.4 -R.sup.6 are each an alkyl, cycloalkyl or neopentyl type polyol residue, R.sup.7 is an alkyl, b is 1 or 2, c is 0 or 1 (b+c=2), d is 0-30, and e is 1-3, and[III] a carbonic acid ester of which alcohol moieties are (A) a monohydric alcohol, (B) a dihydric alcohol, and (C) a neopentyl type polyol or dimer or trimer thereof.
