There is provided retroreflective articles comprising a binder layer comprising an adhesive composition comprising at least one tackifier and at least one elastomer selected from at least one of natural rubbers and synthetic rubbers, and a layer of optical elements at least partially embedded in a major surface of the binder layer. There are also provided articles of clothing using the presently disclosed retroreflective articles and methods for preparing the retroreflective articles.

Reaction mixtures, foams prepared from the reaction mixtures, articles containing the foams, and methods of making the foams are provided. The polymeric material in the foam is formed from a polymerizable composition that includes a di(meth)acrylate oligomer and a monomer having a single ethylenically unsaturated group. The foams are highly filled (e.g., at least 60 volume percent of the foam is the filler) and can be thermally conductive. Although the foams contain a large amount of filler, the foams can be compressed at least 40 volume percent with an applied pressure of 50 pounds per square inch (345 kiloPascals).

Various embodiments of a filter cartridge are disclosed. The filter cartridge includes a first filter media layer having first and second major surfaces, a second filter media layer having first and second major surfaces, and a plenum disposed between the first and second filter media layers. The filter cartridge further includes functional material disposed on the first major surface of each of the first and second filter media layers within a filter region of the filter cartridge, where the functional material includes active particles disposed on an adhesive layer; and a perimeter seal region that defines at least a portion of a perimeter of the filter cartridge, where at least the first and second filter media layers are connected together in the perimeter seal region. The functional material is not disposed in at least a portion of the perimeter seal region.

A pressure sensitive adhesive composition is described comprising at least 50 wt-% of polymerized units derived from alkyl meth(acrylate) monomer(s); and 0.2 to 15 wt-% of at least one cross-linking monomers comprising a (meth)acrylate group and a C6-C20 olefin group, the olefin group being optionally substituted. In another embodiment, an adhesive composition is described comprising a syrup comprising i) a free-radically polymerizable solvent monomer; and ii) a solute (meth)acrylic polymer comprising polymerized units derived from one or more alkyl (meth)acrylate monomers; wherein the syrup comprises at least one crosslinking monomer or the (meth)acrylic solute polymer comprises polymerized units derived from at least one crosslinking monomer, the crosslinking monomer comprising a (meth)acrylate group and a C6-C20 olefin group, the olefin group being optionally substituted. In yet other embodiments, methods of preparing adhesive compositions are described.

Charged polymeric webs, such as electret webs, include a thermoplastic resin and a charge-enhancing additive. The additives are substituted heterocyclic thiolate salts. The heterocyclic thiolate salt has 2 nitrogen groups and a third group that may be an NH, N—NH2, O, or S group. The substituent group is an aromatic or heterocyclic aromatic group. The electret webs may be a non-woven fibrous web or a film. The electret webs are suitable for use as filter media.

The article includes a polymeric film having a first major surface and a second major surface; a first plurality of domains of a first inkjet printing ink comprising a first low adhesion backsize coating composition deposited on the first major surface of the polymeric film; and a second plurality of domains of a second inkjet printing ink comprising a second low adhesion backsize coating composition deposited on the first major surface of the polymeric film; wherein the first and second low adhesion backsize coating composition has a viscosity between 1 to 30 cp at a printing temperature between 20 to 70 degrees Celsius; and wherein at least some of the first plurality of domains overlaps some of the second plurality of domains.

Crosslinkable compositions are provided that contain a) a polymeric material having at least two terminal dithiocarbamate groups or two terminal dithiocarbonate groups and b) a monomer composition that includes at least a crosslinking monomer having two or more ethylenically unsaturated groups. The polymeric materials in the crosslinkable compositions undergo chain extension and crosslinking reactions when exposed to actinic radiation in the ultraviolet region of the electromagnetic spectrum. Additionally, crosslinked compositions, articles that contain the crosslinkable compositions or the crosslinked compositions, and methods of making the articles are provided.
