    摘要: A method of riveting includes drilling a hole in a workpiece with a drill bit held in a spindle mounted on an axial centerline of a drill/rivet machine. The drill descends through a drill/suction cavity of a movable shuttle and drill chips cut by the drill bit are suctioned away from the workpiece as they are made. The drill bit is withdrawn to a level just above the drill/suction cavity, which is then moved to position a rivet insert station over the newly drilled hole in the workpiece. A rivet is blown into the rivet insert station, is guided into alignment with the hole and injected directly into the hole by air pressure. The shuttle moves a rivet die over the newly installed rivet in the hole and a driver of an electromagnetic riveter is lowered into contact with the die, which in turn is pressed against the rivet head. Another rivet die is pressed against the rivet tail on the other side of the panel by a driver of another electromagnetic riveter. Both electromagnetic actuators are energized to propel the drivers toward each other and cause the dies to upset the rivet.

    摘要: An induction heating workcell having a fixed solenoid coil heats parts more uniformly by aligning ferrite blocks, generally along the centerline of the coil, to improve uniformity of the magnetic field, magnetic flux, and power density. The blocks are nonconducting but have a high magnetic permeability so that flux prefers to travel through the block over surrounding structure. Therefore, the blocks are flux shapers that produce the desired temperature control.

The power module has at least one connection zone, and the external process module has at least one connection zone that is configured to align with the at least one connection zone of the power module. The aligned connection zones of the power module and the external process module permit relatively quick and inexpensive attachment of the external process module to the power module. The at least one engine support element may be an aftertreatment element.

    摘要: An electronic starting circuit for a single-phase electric motor is disclosed in which the motor has a first, and possibly a second, main winding and has an auxiliary winding used for starting. The voltage across the auxiliary winding increases as the motor speed accelerates and is used as a sensing signal. This signal is applied through an amplifier to a peak detector which determines the peak DC output and compares it with a reference voltage. When the reference voltage is the larger, then an auxiliary switch connected in series with the motor auxiliary winding is closed for starting of the motor. When the peak DC output voltage from the peak detector exceeds the reference voltage, the auxiliary switch is opened. Instant reversing of the motor is possible by discharging a capacitor in the peak detector at the time of reversal so as to re-energize the auxiliary winding. The circuit also operates on a two-speed motor. The motor starts on the high-speed main winding, and then transfers to the low-speed main winding if low speed is selected.     摘要: A heat exchanger assembly is formed of spaced parallel headers connected by an array of spaced flat tubes each in a plane perpendicular to the headers. The header and tube material is clad with a brazing alloy which melts at a temperature slightly below the melting point of the base material. Sinuous metallic ribbons fill the spaces between the flat tubes. The assembly is induction heated by a low frequency alternating magnetic field having its flux lines extending transversely of the tubes and headers and at oblique angles thereto, the angles being selected to cause equal heating thereof for obtaining a uniform temperature throughout the assembly to effect the melting of the alloy and the brazing of the joints. Heat panels heated by the magnetic field to a temperature near that of the assembly are placed opposite outer surfaces of the assembly as required to avoid a radiation loss which would cause a significant temperature differential.
