摘要: The present invention provides a method of manufacturing a composite material made of a rubber and a clay mineral dispersed uniformly therein. The method proceeds exchanging inorganic ions of the clay mineral with organic onium ions to organize the clay mineral; mixing the organized clay mineral and a process oil and/or a plasticizer; and mixing the rubber material with the mixture of the organized clay mineral and the process oil and/or the plasticizer. Process oil and/or plasticizer are intercalated into the organized clay mineral. As a result, the interlayer distance of the clay mineral is enlarged. The most favorable mode of the present invention is for a barrier material against water, gas and the like and for a rubber material required for an improved mechanical property.

摘要: A fuel absorbent is provided in which polymer particles having a fuel absorbing ability are contained or dispersed in a binder matrix permeable to fuel. The fuel permeates the binder and is absorbed by the polymer particles. A process is provided for making the fuel absorbent by mixing polymer particles having fuel absorbing ability with a binder dissolved in a solvent, to thereby obtain a dispersion mixture having the polymer particles dispersed therein. The dispersion mixture is then dried to cause the polymer particles to be dispersed in a matrix of the binder. The fuel absorbent has excellent durability and fuel absorbing/desorbing ability.

摘要: A layered molding and method for making the same which has excellent anti-permeability to gasoline. The layered molding is defined by a fluoroplastic or polyamide plastic and an epichlorohydrin rubber. The fluoroplastic is a copolymer formed from at least two precursors selected from the group consisting of hexafluoropropylene, tetrafluoroethylene, and vinylidene fluoride, which are selected within a plotted range to preferably form a binary or tertiary composition. The epiclorohydrin rubber contains organic phosphonium. The resulting molding layer does not require an adhesive agent.

摘要: Provided is a production method of a β-type sialon fluorescent substance, where luminescence intensity can be improved without adding a metal element other than elements composing a β-type sialon fluorescent substance. Namely, in a production method of a fluorescent substance containing an optically-active element as the luminescence center in a crystal of nitride or acid nitride, a β-type sialon fluorescent substance is produced by a burning process for heat-treating a mixture including metal compound powder and an optically-active element compound; a high-temperature annealing process for heat-treating the burned product after cooling under a nitrogen atmosphere; a rare-gas annealing process for heat-treating the high-temperature annealed product under a rare gas atmosphere; and a process for treating the rare-gas treated product with an acid.

摘要: β-SiAlON represented by a general formula Si6-zAlzOzN8-z with Eu dissolved therein, whose spin density corresponding to absorption g=2.00±0.02 at 25° C. obtained by the electron spin resonance method is equal to or lower than 6.0×1016 spins/g. A method of manufacturing the β-SiAlON includes: a mixing step of mixing β-SiAlON materials; a baking step of baking the β-SiAlON having undergone the mixing step; a heating step of increasing the ambient temperature of the materials having undergone the mixing step from 1500° C. to a baking temperature of the baking step at a rate equal to or lower than 2° C/min.; an annealing step of annealing the β-SiAlON having undergone the baking step; and an acid treatment step of acid-treating the β-SiAlON having undergone the annealing step. The objective of the present invention is to provide β-SiAlON capable of achieving high luminescent efficiency, a method of manufacturing the β-SiAlON, and a light-emitting device using the β-SiAlON.
