摘要： A middle-distillate fuel oil composition is disclosed. The middle-distillate fuel oil composition includes minor amounts of a quaternary ammonium salt of a polycarboxylic acid; and a polyalkylene amine detergent. The concentrations of (A) and (B) endow the composition with better low temperature properties than a corresponding composition in which (A) is replaced with (Aref), an amine salt of a polycarboxylic acid analogous to (A) and which is not a quaternary ammonium salt; and the concentration of (B) is such that it would adversely affect the low temperature properties of (Aref) in the corresponding composition.

摘要： There are disclosed fuel compositions containing an additive formed by admixture of (i) at least one ethylene polymer, (ii) the product of the condensation reaction between an aldehyde or ketone or reactive equivalent thereof and at least one compound comprising one or more aromatic moieties having at least one substituent of the formula XR1 and one further substituent R2 wherein X is oxygen of sulfur, R1 is hydrogen or a moiety bearing at least one hydrocarbyl group and R2 represents a hydrocarbyl group and (iii) at least one oil soluble polar nitrogen compound different from the condensation product and having one or more substituents of the formula NR13 where R13 represents a hydrocarbyl group containing 8 to 40 carbon atoms.

摘要： Nitrogen-containing functionalised polymers may be obtained by reacting olefinically-unsaturated polymers and N-substituted amido or imido compounds in the presence of an acid catalyst. The compounds may be useful as oil additives, for example, as dispersants, in lubricating or fuel oil compositions. C.sub.2 to C.sub.25 olefins may be reacted with N-substituted amido or imido compounds to obtain dihydrooxazine compounds, which may be useful as chemical intermediates.
