Abstract: A cleaning apparatus comprises a cleaner module provided with a module mounting portion, a wireless cleaning module removably mounted to the cleaner module, and a wired cleaning module provided with a canister, a connection hose connected from the canister to the cleaner, and a connector provided in the connection hose to be removably mounted to the cleaner module. A wired cleaning mode using the wired cleaning module and a wireless cleaning mode using the wireless cleaning module are selectively operated by mounting one of the connector of the wired cleaning module and the wireless cleaning module, to the module mounting portion.

Abstract: Disclosed is a cleaning robot for creating a 3Dimensional (3D) obstacle map including information about a height of an object existing on an area to be cleaned, and cleaning the area to be cleaned based on the 3D obstacle map, and a method of controlling the cleaning robot. Abstract: A control apparatus of a robot cleaner includes a user interface unit to receive a user command controlling the robot cleaner; a controller to generate a control signal to receive a map of a cleaning area, based on the user command; and a communicator to receive the map of the cleaning area from an external server or the robot cleaner, based on the control signal. An embodiment may download or generate a map of a cleaning area and to allow a map editing to be performed by a user. An embodiment may set and edit a cleaning schedule. When setting the cleaning schedule, an embodiment may recommend a cleaning schedule based on cleaning history data. An embodiment may automatically determine whether the environment is changed or whether the cleaning is available, while the robot cleaner performs the cleaning, and it may be possible to actively deal with this.
