    摘要: An optical lens device assembly containing an optical lens device and an optical device sealed without causing complication of optical module configurations is provided. In the optical lens device assembly, a resin member having light transmittance is used to fill in space between the optical lens device and the optical device to be optically coupled to the optical lens device. The resin member is made from a resin material having a refractive index being different from that of the optical lens device. The resin member is used to seal a clearance between optical planes, which face each other, of the optical lens device and the optical device, and to mechanically couple the optical lens device to the optical device.

    摘要: An optical lens device assembly is provided which is capable of being substantially free from a deviation in an optical axis of an optical lens caused by errors of its manufacturing, thus preventing a drop in coupling efficiency and enabling easy alignment of the optical axis of the optical lens. One of end faces of two optical lens is used as a lens plane and the two optical lens are optically in series coupled. The two optical lenses are placed in a manner that their non-lens planes face each other.

    摘要: An optical waveguide having a clad and a core, the core being made of polymer material containing a repetitive unit having formula (1), (2) or (3): Each of these polymer materials has a higher glass transition temperature and lower water absorption than those of deuterated PMMA, has a transparency equivalent with that of deuterated PMMA, and shows neither light absorption nor scattering in the operating wavelength region. An optical waveguide with a core fabricated using these polymer materials is high in heat resistance and low in water absorption. Thus using the waveguide will successfully provide optical communication elements with an advanced durability against the environment.

    摘要: A method of fabricating a microlens that serves to prevent damage thereto in the fabrication process is provided. First, a lens body of which the maximum height housed within a recess is lower than the height of the side wall of the recess is formed in the lens formation region by performing patterning that transfers the shape of a first resist pattern to a substrate by using the first resist pattern as an etching mask. Thereafter, a partial region of the substrate which is outside the lens formation region is removed to form an outline by using a second resist pattern as a mask.
