摘要: The invention relates to a method of isolating an immunoglobulin, comprising the steps of:
a) providing a separation matrix comprising at least 15 mg/ml multimers of immunoglobulin-binding alkali-stabilized Protein A domains covalently coupled to a porous support, wherein the porous support comprises cross-linked polymer particles having a volume-weighted median diameter (d50,v) of 56-70 micrometers and a dry solids weight of 55-80 mg/ml;
b) contacting a liquid sample comprising an immunoglobulin with the separation matrix;
c) washing the separation matrix with a washing liquid;
d) eluting the immunoglobulin from the separation matrix with an elution liquid; and
e) cleaning the separation matrix with a cleaning liquid comprising at least 0.5 M NaOH.-

摘要: A system is provided for removing arsenic from water to safe levels at or below the EPA standards. The system is a hybrid spouted vessel/fixed bed filter system that significantly enhances/improves arsenic removal for drinking water using zero-valent iron (ZVI) particles. Movement of the circulating, iron-containing particles in a dense moving bed that forms on the spouted vessel bottom creates an abrasive “self-polishing” action among them that continuously generates colloidal iron corrosion products. This material then circulates with the water in the vessel and is removed and concentrated in a fixed bed filter. The colloidal material captured and immobilized in the filter has been shown to remove arsenic from contaminated water at very rapid rates.

摘要: A separation column for expanded bed adsorption comprises a column tube (2), a base (15) carrying an inlet rotor structure (6) for pumping in process liquid, and a top cap (3). The top cap (3) is conical in form, and has a peripheral flange 31 by which it is rigidly fixed to the top edge flange (22) of the column tube (2). The angle of the convergent interior surface (35) of the conical top cap (3) may be between 10 and 25°. A vortex-inhibitor component (8) projects down below the outlet structure (4) at the top of the cap, projecting into the operating space (15) of the column to inhibit rotation of liquid in the column interior. An expanded bed adsorption process is done with upward flow of liquid in the column through a bed of media particles.

摘要: In the field of expanded bed adsorption chromatography, with particular but not exclusive relevance to disposable expanded bed chromatography columns, a method of conducting upward flow expanded bed chromatography comprising: supplying a liquid via an inlet to a stationary phase medium contained in a column, allowing adsorption of at least one component from the liquid by the stationary phase medium, withdrawing the liquid from the column via an outlet, regulating the expansion of the stationary phase medium by regulation of the flow rate of the liquid through at least the inlet, and restricting any overpressure in the headspace of the column to not more than the outside pressure plus 0.1 bar, is provided. In addition, apparatus for use in said method, in particular columns for use in expanded bed chromatography, are provided.
